Hi,

We seem to be heading for an edit war over Pico Bolivar which I would rather avoid.

(1) I cannot get the URL you provided to work, although I have found a date for it, 2001. This means that it pre-dates the link that I provided (2002). (2) Pico Bolivar was GPS surveyed this year by the well known Andes authority John Biggar, and here is what he writes: "Pico Bolivar (Venezuela). I took a series of GPS altitude readings on the summit, they were very consistent and pointed to the summit being 4979m. One reading gave exactly this, others were just a meter or two higher or lower." I have gone by the 4981 (4980.8m) provided by venezuela-innovadora but the close agreement between this and John Biggar means that the 5007m is very unlikely to be correct. So unless you can supply further evidence via a URL that works, I propose to put the elevation of Bolivar back down to 4981.

Re the additional peaks, Humboldt and La Concha are not really separate mountains, so their qualification to be listed is open to question, but I will not break the three revert rule by reverting these. My SRTM data suggests that the 4940m elevation for Humboldt is too high, it is nearer to 4900m, but the evidence is not conclusive. SRTM is consistent with the other two elevations you provide. Debo decirte que esos mapas van a ser borrados proximamente porque no cumplen con Derechos de autor. Cuando las subi aun no comprendia bien como funcionaba eso, pero si es modificado el mapa significativamente se vuelve de tu autoria. --F3rn4nd0 05:21, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
