February 2021[edit]

Anonymous users from this IP address have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for edit warring.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Acroterion (talk) 23:37, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I have only reverted a single article twice, so I am not in breach of the "Three Revert Rule". See: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Edit_warring#The_three-revert_rule The reversions were also to protect the page from user DuncanHill https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:DuncanHill , who was currently engaged in an Edit War with other users, having reverted 5 times, and not contributed anything to the discussion on the current attempt at a consensus. These were only to restore the page to what I seen as the more stable version prior to DuncanHill and others edit war. I was not involved with this edit war. I assume both users have also been blocked, since they exceeded the three reversion rule unlike myself, and did not seem to intend to stop this behavior? 109.249.184.195 (talk) 00:10, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Even if I accept your version of events, one does not have to break 3RR to be edit warring. Nor do you have the right to edit war to counter other edit warring. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 01:21, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You made five reverts with 92.24.246.53. Both IPs are blocked. Acroterion (talk) 00:16, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Acroterion: No I did not. If you have proof of this then can you please provide this? I think you may be getting confused. I am not DuncanHill or any other anonymous IP poster. If you can prove otherwise then I would like you to in order to properly justify the block, otherwise I request to be unblocked. I am not responsible for other users actions, and if anything was one of the few trying to restore relative peace with the current consensus dispute and encourage discussion on the talk page. 109.249.184.195 (talk) 00:59, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Both IPs are making identical edits in defiance of an RfC on the subject of Bacon's nationality. They're both blocked for edit-warring and disruption. I'll protect the article to ensure that the disruption doesn't resume. Acroterion (talk) 01:04, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Acroterion: Hi Acoterion. That was not my question. I was asking for proof to your claim that I was one of the other two users actually engaged in edit warring, and exceeding the three revert rule. I am still currently waiting on a response from you regarding this. Even if you are now seemingly abandoning that idea now after a request for proof, what is the reason for blocking me now then? Especially since I was actively discussing the current consensus issue, and protecting the page from user DuncanHill's and others vandalism. Please can you respond with either proof that I am somehow one of these other two users, or the new justification for blocking specifically me and my IP adress, when I did not exceed the three revert rule, had justification for these reversions in order to protect the page from the other two, was actively engaged in discussion, and also encouraged others to do the same? If there is no reason as per Wikipedias guidelines, then please unblock me. Unblocks must be justified and clear in reasoning.109.249.184.195 (talk) 01:26, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
.Both IPs are making identical edits in defiance of established consensus. Both are blocked. It doesn't matter if they're the same person or not, the disruption has the appearance of coordination. You're not entitled to set conditions, and your request has already been declined by the reviewing admin. Acroterion (talk) 01:32, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
