[edit]Hello, I'm MrOllie. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Center for American Progress have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 20:22, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
- Mr.Ollie or Marquardtika: I feel the same way about your changes. You are stating opinions in that whole section including the section heading. I did not delete or alter your language; rather I simply added references and dates. 138.88.143.36 (talk) 20:32, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
- You added blatant POV pushing and embedded external links to the org's own website. Wikipedia is concerned with what independent parties have to say, not how an organization would like itself to be seen. MrOllie (talk) 21:35, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 20:30, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
- right back at you! Be factual. 138.88.143.36 (talk) 20:34, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you use Wikipedia for promotion or advertising. MrOllie (talk) 21:33, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
- you are obviously just some partisan hack who has a beef with this organization. I will continue adding my edits as needed 138.88.143.36 (talk) 21:39, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Jdcomix (talk) 00:57, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
- Makes sense but no one engaged in a dialogue when they deleted my text. I did not alter the existing text materially or vandalize others' contribution. This seems to be an orchestrated effort against at least 6 U.S. based think tanks where negative content has been added to their Wiki pages sometimes without any references. 138.88.143.36 (talk) 01:10, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
- You were warned about Edit Warring as now you have violated WP:3RR. Untamed1910 (talk) 03:27, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
