Information icon Hello, I'm Laser brain. I noticed that you recently removed content from Cleopatra without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Hello Laser brain. Sorry I didn't leave any edit summary. I only edited where I noticed a mistake; Cleopatra never co-ruled with her father...she and her brother-husband succeeded their father upon his death in 51BCE 168.31lnm (talk) 13:07, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. DrKay (talk) 19:32, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the tip Dr Kay. But how is the style I use inappropriate? 168.31lnm (talk) 19:35, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It's not written in English. DrKay (talk) 19:36, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean not in English? I wrote Consort of Great Britain. Now you tell me what is not in English there! 168.31lnm (talk) 19:38, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Stringing English words together into a nonsensical string of words is not English. The phrase should be idiomatic and logical. DrKay (talk) 19:44, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oh please! So how is the phrase "illogical"? Because honestly you are just being rude 168.31lnm (talk) 08:12, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

He's not the consort of a country. He's only married to one person not the entire population. DrKay (talk) 08:51, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

And you don't think I know that. So what you mean to say is that let's say for example Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon was Queen Consort of the British monarch and not Queen Consort of the United Kingdom? Because based on your argument, that is what you intend to put across. 168.31lnm (talk) 09:04, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Don't be disingenuous. If you don't know the difference between Queen Consort and consort, then you don't speak English as a first language, and should respect the opinion of someone who is a native speaker. DrKay (talk) 09:06, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oh please. English is my first language and I surely don't like your belligerent sardonic and imperious attitude. You should try to be more amiable and accept that you can be wrong sometimes. Anyway let me at least try to be nonchalant about this and leave it at that. 168.31lnm (talk) 09:40, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries

[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours to the page Humphrey, Duke of Gloucester has an edit summary that appears to be inaccurate or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. Though you often leave no edit summary, the ones you do provide are often vague or misleading. Please make a habit of leaving a helpful edit summary, and please consolidate your edits. The "show preview" button can be helpful in this regard. Eric talk 12:05, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the disruptive edit I made. Be assured that it was not intentional and forgive my reckless action of not leaving adequate summaries. Your correction was kindly taken. Thank you 168.31lnm (talk) 12:57, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
