Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 12:33, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:AGF and WP:Vandalism. Accusing another editor of vandalism or defacement is a personal attack and we don't do that. You are in an editing disagreement with another editor. Please discuss on article talk and don't edit war. In addition please don't address other users informally, especially after they have made note of their wishes. Either address with their full username or an accepted alternative. In talk page comments and edit summaries please comment on content, not on other users. Thanks, Vsmith (talk) 17:03, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

3RR[edit]

Please be aware of WP:3RR, which you're in danger of breaking / have broken William M. Connolley (talk) 20:07, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

oops didn't get this message and thank you for following the process. I'm ok with LOW but we really need to clean up the reference so that it's clear to the user. I'm happy to work it out but we should cite our work correctly and fully. No?
OK, you won't listen and continue to revert. Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Edit_warring#User:174.49.84.214_reported_by_User:William_M._Connolley_.28Result:_.29 William M. Connolley (talk) 20:26, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
See above notes. I missed your first warning.
Except of course that you already had gotten the warning in text on the talk-page[1], and answered it. So you didn't "miss" it. --Kim D. Petersen (talk) 21:53, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm very new to Wikipedia. If you look at my edit history I've only really edited the solar cycle page and now the solar variation page and just want to make the article better but for some reason you're more interested in attacking me. So far I'm finding that contributing on here is made very difficult by certain people (you and William M. Connolley) and there are some great editors too like Geoffrey Landis etc who are very balanced. Can you just clean up the reference. That's all I asked for but you and William M. Connolley largely refused to discuss. I'm still waiting on the Solar Cycle Talk Page.174.49.84.214 (talk) 21:58, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

February 2012[edit]

You have been blocked from editing for 24 hours for your disruption caused by edit warring and violation of the three-revert rule at Solar cycle. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

NPA[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like to remind you not to attack other editors, as you did on Talk:Global_cooling#Weart. Please comment on the content and not the contributors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. You are welcome to rephrase your comment as a civil criticism of the article. Thank you. Kim D. Petersen (talk) 05:49, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I did not make a comment under Weart. You must be in error. Also, I ask that you refrain from attacks as well. :-) 174.49.84.214 (talk) 16:10, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the #Weart was incorrect. I was referring to this comment which is entirely unacceptable under WP:NPA... as well as in any other discourse. This is not the first time, but i do hope that it is the last. --Kim D. Petersen (talk) 18:15, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the para on NPA grounds. Be polite William M. Connolley (talk) 21:41, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Specifically, putting three tags on one section of the article while involved in a content dispute, and not logging on when doing so. Socrates2008 (Talk) 23:01, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
