Joginder Singh Vedanti moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Joginder Singh Vedanti, is not suitable as written to remain published. It appears there is a WP:UPE or WP:COI conflict. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, and have addressed the UPE/COI issue, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. As per WP policy, please do not move into mainspace yourself. Onel5969 TT me 17:01, 23 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

SGPC-Sarbat Khalsa dispute

[edit]

You are changing facts clearly linked by reliable sources to make Jagtar Singh Hawara as the Jathedar of Akal Takht.

I clearly linked in the article that the SGPC refused to accept Sarbat Khalsa's decisions of removing Giani Gurbachan Singh and appointing Hawara in his place and stated it had no sanctity (https://www.tribuneindia.com/news/punjab/community/at-sarbat-khalsa-hardliners-appoint-hawara-akal-takht-jathedar/156857.html).

"SGPC president Makkar, however, said the so-called Sarbat Khalsa held no sanctity since it was against the principles and tenets of the religion. “All resolutions announced today stand null and void principally. The appointment, removal, duties and tenure of jathedars have been well-defined in the Gurudwara Act 1925 and the SGPC has been given full rights to operate the framework in this direction. The SGPC is a representative body of Sikh community from all over the country and its validity cannot be challenged,” he said."

Even a recent 2023 article by Quint says SGPC disputed the Sarbat Khalsa's validity and appointment of Hawara (https://www.thequint.com/news/politics/sikh-prisoners-protest-bandi-singhs-waris-punjab-de-chandigarh).

"One of the most prominent prisoners whose release is being demanded, is Jagtar Singh Hawara, who has been in jail since 1995. He has been convicted in the assassination of former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh. The 2015 Sarbat Khalsa had appointed him as the Jathedar of the Akal Takht. However, the SGPC disputed the validity of the Sarbat Khalsa as well as Hawara's appointment."

Secondly, your attempt of using SGPC seeking release of Hawara from jail doesn't mean it recognizes him as jathedar. It is also seeking the release of other prisoners (https://theprint.in/india/sgpc-starts-nationwide-signature-campaign-to-seek-release-of-sikh-prisoners/1244134/) which you omit to mention.

Disputes may be allowed here, but I doubt lying and removing facts are. Please stop disrupting and making up your own claims, you seem to have been doing this for long term.

Note that consensus is not a tool for denialism and removal of facts. You are openly flouting WP:POV and WP:EP. False and misleading content can be challenged and removed. And your actions violate Wikipedia policies. Until you prove that SGPC ever accepted Hawara as the jathedar, please do not add your edits. Drokanus (talk) 18:31, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
