3O decline

[edit]

Please note that I have declined your filing at WP:3O. Per the instructions, 3O should be requested only once there has been significant discussion regarding a content dispute, and there is no evidence of such a discussion at the Talk page you linked to. You are welcome to pursue other forms of dispute resolution, or re-file your request (ideally formatted properly) when there has been more of a discussion. Cheers. You shouldn't have removed it! I *KNOW* there is no discussion on the talk page. My edit/correction to the main page was removed WITHOUT the other person discussing the matter.
I'm new to this. I don't know my way around Wikipedia editing. Perhaps I should wait for other people to discuss the matter on the talk page with me? However, there is a revolution happening in Iran right now. There is (Persian language) news on Iran-International news agency that these people are being shot. I'm not sure how long I have to wait for this false information to be cleared up while the person who has undone my correction didn't discuss it on the talk page. 2001:569:76CB:6E00:9027:4601:CBF8:46C4 (talk) 04:46, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure why you filed a request for a third opinion knowing there was no discussion on the Talk page given that the instructions at WP:3O explicitly state that there must be an existing discussion, but I hope your future endeavors here will be less frustrating!
As a next step, I would recommend reaching out to the editor who reverted your changes, asking what their rationale was; it might be best to do so at the article's Talk page and WP:MENTION them, and then leave them a note at their Talk page asking them to join the conversation. This is recommended per WP:BRD. Going to 3O without establishing a dialogue was jumping the gun a bit. As far as concerns about waiting for a Wikipedia article to be updated, I'd recommend you review WP:NOTNEWS and WP:NODEADLINE; it can take some time for Wikipedia articles to be updated, especially regarding current events, in circumstances where there's a dispute regarding what information is accurate/appropriate to include.
Sorry for my delay in responding to you; I was out of town for several days. I'm sorry to see nobody has engaged with the note you left at the article's Talk page in the meantime. DonIago (talk) 17:44, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
