Ofaitumbo is a remote village situated in Ongenga Constituency in Ohangwena region northern Namibia. Ofaitumbo is situated 50km from oshikango northen namibia,near Angola border. IN ofaitumbo village there are only 15 houses, that is why it is a small village with only about 190 residents. The constituency in which Ofaitumbo village is found is under the leadership of MR LEONARD SHIMUTWIKENI as the counsilor and MR LUKAS HANGULA SHANGHALA is the headman of Ofaitumbo.In Ofaitumbo is were Haikonda primary school is situated,one the mostly affected schools by the flood during rainy seasons and sometimes closes down due to flood. Ofaitumbo village is beautiful for its magnificent view of old indigenous species of trees,domestic animals and the presence of different types of birds.ofaitumbo village was well known during colonial time because it is the place of birth for the late commander of the military MR Dimo Hamaambo and many clashes between SWAPOmilitary group and South Africa defense force happened in ofaitumbo during liberation struggle,because is near angola and namibia borders.This village is very far from the main road that connects villages to the near by towns and people use to walk long distances to seek for medical treatment but now this era came to an end because the councilor made provision to build a health clinic.
