November 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Chicdat. I noticed that you recently removed content from 2019 Pacific typhoon season without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 11:10, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Information icon Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Template:Costliest Japan typhoons. Your edits could be interpreted as vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did at Template:Costliest Pacific typhoons, you may be blocked from editing. 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 11:13, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you add defamatory content to Wikipedia again, as you did at Typhoon Faxai, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. If you keep insisting that Faxai's damage was 10 billion, then that will be your last edit. 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 11:15, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I have no idea why I was blocked from Wikipedia. The messages suddenly come up and when I realise that I was blocked. Talking about my changes, all of them are doing the update of TC and they are cited with sources. It was ridiculous that no one talks to me what's the problem. I have zero chances to explain

Decline reason:

You claim all of your updates were cited. This does not appear to be correct. For example, this edit and this edit and this edit were uncited as far as I can see. Yamla (talk) 13:47, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

@Yamla: The first two info are come from the main article, and the last one are just simply an order re-arrange. I mean the info provided in the main article and the section are properly sourced. --219.78.190.92 (talk) 13:50, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Yamla: have to agree with the IP here - with exception to the edits to the template, the info the IP added 2019 Pacific typhoon season and Typhoon Faxai was definitely sourced and actually constructive, which makes half the warnings above erroneous (all of which, I note, were placed within 5 minutes of each other and just a few minutes after the IP stopped editing). A 2-week block with no opportunity to explain themselves seems very harsh. (courtesy ping @QEDK: as blocking admin) ~ KN2731 {talk · contribs} 14:14, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Just so we're clear, this is an AGF unblock, and only because I'm assuming that the IP editor was not aware of the rules because they were not warned properly before being reported (@Chicdat: take note of this please). Your edits were disruptive but per WP:NOTPUNITIVE, I've unblocked you. Good luck and happy editing. --qedk (t c) 15:54, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • A big thank you to KN2731 for this, and I request an apology from Chicdat for your premature action (Maybe WP:BITE. --219.78.190.92 (talk) 16:02, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
      • Mistakes happen, and just to clarify, read H:ES and WP:DE before resuming editing. --qedk (t c) 16:09, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Personally I’m neutral. While the block was WP: BITEy, they had a lot of warnings. If I were the blocking admin, I’d commute the block. HurricaneTracker495 (talk) 19:14, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I am very sorry. In fact, please do unblock this user, but only making sure that the user reads WP:RS. I'm sorry for "biting" you, 219.something. 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 10:59, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, you're already unblocked. 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 11:00, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
