April 2017[edit]

Information icon Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Fake news. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. General Ization Talk 00:56, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback[edit]

Hi! Your professor wanted me to give you some feedback on your content. It looks like you added it to fake news but it was removed, with the assertion that it read too much like an essay.

Offhand, here's what I noticed. The first is that none of the claims are sourced, which is something that's definitely important on Wikipedia, especially when it comes to anything political or crime related. You also used phrases like "although it is said", which you should avoid this because it's a little general and non-specific. You should specify the people who says this, like saying "Critics like (insert name) have alleged that...", as this gives a name to the claim and the type of group of people who make the claim.

You also need to make sure that you aren't rephrasing content that is already in the article. In situations like this you don't have to give a lot of information and can just add a couple of brief sentences about what you want to add. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 21:33, 23 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
