Advice

[edit]

I strongly recommend that you acquaint yourself with the conditional tense, which is how polite requests are framed, rather than making demands. "Could you" is conditional, and implies a degree of voluntary cooperation. "I want you to" is a demand, which is out of place in this voluntary project. Please stop treating other editors as workers to be assigned. In order to assure that you understand this, I have removed your ability to edit that project page for a while. Acroterion (talk) 15:35, 3 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Acroterion: they returned today and seemed to have learned nothing from being blocked. They are continuing to make repeated demands [1] [2] and are also making disruptive off-topic comments [3]. Would it be possibly to re-implement the IP block for a month? Thanks. Hemiauchenia (talk) 21:52, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address and you are an uninvolved editor with a registered account, you may continue to edit by logging in.
Since you've resumed the behavior that got you blocked from the talkpage where you were issuing demands, I've blocked you sitewide now. If you do this again, I will block this IP for a much longer term. Stop treating other editors as servants. Acroterion (talk) 22:57, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Acroterion: They seem to be engaging in block evasion using the IP 2601:192:437F:E240:6813:8391:54EC:E287 (talk · contribs · (/64) · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RBLs · http · block user · block log), both that IP and 24.218.189.104 geolocate to Natick, Massachusetts. Hemiauchenia (talk) 20:50, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I feel like I've seen other Massachusetts IPs involved in unsavoury behaviour on our project pages before 24.218.189.104. Is it just me? Lythronaxargestes (talk | contribs) 21:14, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
