February 2018 - IP address block review request

[edit]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

User:DeltaQuad has decided to and without giving a valid explanation block the entire chain of Verizon Wireless IPV6 addresses en masse resulting in myself and thousands of other Verizon Wireless customers not having the ability to edit either anonymously or as a registered user when using our mobile devices (i.e. Android or iOS) because when I attempt to log in and edit as a registered user I am immediately stopped with a message that the IP address I am using is blocked. If you check the contributions for this anonymous IPV6 account you will see that NO contributions have ever been made ergo NO violations of Wikipedia's editing policies were ever violated. The blocks on this and the entire Verizon Wireless IPV6 networrk by User:DeltaQuad was arbitrary on the part of a zealous Wikipedian who did not consider the consequences of their actions and how it would affect other Wikipedians. Therefore I would like to request a review of THIS and other Verizon Wireless IPV6 YborCityJohn (talk) 08:36, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

@YborCityJohn: You are still able to edit without issue using your account (as you have in fact proved by posting here). This block, although broad, is valid, and is necessary for the prevention of disruption to Wikipedia. However, logged-in users like yourself will still be able to edit Wikipedia while on any of the IP addresses in the blocked range. Yunshui  10:11, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Be aware that when I posted this request I did so from my home network not the Verizon Wireless network which is why I was able to edit and make this request. Further your statement that logged in users such as myself can still edit as a register user is unfortunately not correct, I've made several attempts to log into Wikipedia using my Verizon Wireless data account connected to this IPV6 address and such logins and edits have failed. I implore you to please reconsider your decision to deny my request. YborCityJohn (talk) 15:25, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@YborCityJohn: The settings on this block specifically permit logged-in users to edit via this address, so I can't see why you wouldn't be able to do so. Could you please post the exact message that you see when you try and edit from your account whilst using this IP? If you are logged in, it should not prevent you from editing.
