This song is about my family.
Tom Hurley (great grandfather)
Frederick Hurley (Son)
Madonna (Hurley) Reardon
Charlene (Reardon) Blake
comments on the linked facebook posts will further confirm the family's stance on this song.

Hi IP Editor. I am going to reiterate what I stated on the Talk Page:
Your article draft, in its current form, is wholly inappropriate for Wikipedia. It might be worth reading Wikipedia:Your first article which gives you the dos and don'ts of creating an article, and Wikipedia:Five pillars which detail the fundamental principles of Wikipedia.
Please also very carefully read Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. Your draft in its current form certainly breaks some of these requirements, particularly Wikipedia:SOAPBOX.
Wikipedia is only interested in what independent, reliable, secondary sources have to say about a subject. This is one of the fundamental principles of Wikipedia. Your article had zero citations, zero sources, and seemed to be wholly Wikipedia:Original research. This type of content is not permitted.
Let me know if you have any questions, Qcne (talk) 18:12, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
My article was not independent "research". It is lived experiences with the son of Tom Hurley who is the father of my grandfather. Biography may be a more accurate category for this article? 2604:3D08:E076:BBF0:D80A:C804:1125:23F5 (talk) 18:33, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please visit the Facebook Links and read them to confirm the source information. CharleneKatt (talk) 18:36, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again- lived experience is the definition of what we call Wikipedia:Original research I am afraid.
To put it plainly: Wikipedia articles only exist to summarise what reliable, independent, secondary sources say about a subject. To break it down a bit:
- Reliable means from a trusted institution such as a national newspaper or a scholarly journal. I am afraid a Facebook post is not reliable as anyone can make any Facebook post: I could make a Facebook post stating I am the President of Antarctica and use that as basis for my new article 'Qcne, President of Antarctica' but it would not be appropriate for hopefully obvious reasons
- Independent means not connected in any way with the subject. As you are directly related to the subject you are by definition not independent.
The only way that your article could be made appropriate for Wikipedia is if the song and it's background were to appear in those reliable independent sources (such as a reputable news website). Then and only then could a Wikipedia article be created, and it would serve just to summarise what those reliable and independent sources say.
I hope that makes sense, and I hope you now understand better what makes a Wikipedia article. Writing for Wikipedia is very complex as we have all these policies and rules in place, but they are there to protect the reputation of Wikipedia and to ensure as much as possible that the articles present correct factual information.
Again, let me know if you have any questions. Qcne (talk) 18:41, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You have the information to read and confirm the information provided. Are you saying you refuse to do that? 2604:3D08:E076:BBF0:D80A:C804:1125:23F5 (talk) 18:47, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again. As I stated before, Facebook and other social media is not a reliable source so is useless to this discussion.
I am afraid you do not understand the purpose of Wikipedia. Please do read Wikipedia:Five pillars. By all means, continue to campaign on Facebook but please understand that Wikipedia is not an appropriate venue for campaigning about anything, and you would be at risk of being blocked if you try to.
Hope that helps, Qcne (talk) 18:50, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is about truth. And truth has to start somewhere. I am the straight source. You are aware that the news is not a legit source. I already stopped the news stations in Canada from speaking of Andy Wakefield because they kept saying the study linked autism to the MMR. They stopped mentioning him all together when they read the actual study and realized I was right. News is not a legit source either. Just saying. 2604:3D08:E076:BBF0:B138:367B:EC5E:762F (talk) 20:45, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@2604:3D08:E076:BBF0:B138:367B:EC5E:762F Unfortunately I have nothing more to say to you, please re-read my above advice.
Best wishes, Qcne (talk) 20:50, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
