[edit]

How interesting that someone is policing the vast world of Wikipedia, and is bold enough to reverse my updates while I am still in the process of making them. For your information, I am not in the habit of having my time wasted. Not that it's any of your business, but the edits I made were to update information on the city where I have lived and been very involved with for 10 years. Other minor edits were to correct grammar, vocabulary, and wordiness. Kindly reinstate my work immediately, and next time ask first. This site is called Wikipedia, not 29611670.x . Hi—the edit I undid was the one consisting only of the removal of the "Government and infrastructure" section; your other edits are still in place. – 29611670.x (talk) 05:36, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Spoken English Corpus

[edit]

Thank you very much for taking the time to suggest how to improve my article. I was feeling very dejected about it before, as I could not understand why it had been turned down. It is clear to me that I still have a lot to learn about how WP works, especially in the area of possible conflicts of interest. I will do some more work on the article when I get the time, and try re-submitting it. Thanks again, RoachPeter (talk) 07:58, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You are quite wonderful. Thanks for the vector version! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pteranadons (talkcontribs) 01:21, 16 April 2013‎ (UTC)[reply]

No problem, and thanks!
By the way, if you want to leave a message for another user, this is generally done on their talk page ("User talk:" plus the username); you can sign and date your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). I almost missed your note – 296.x (talk) 22:15, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry! Long time editor, pretty new at talking with all you fellow writers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pteranadons (talkcontribs) 01:37, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Contemporary Christian music

[edit]

You were right to remove the word "by", but it seems that an anon has taken a stand against the edit I made. Care to review? Contemporary Christian music. Walter Görlitz (talk) 06:58, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've changed it slightly. "Artists has included" is incorrect, and having "included" and "among others" together is a bit redundant, but I don't see any reason not to break the lists into separate sentences. – 296.x (talk) 07:14, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! That was my intention. The misspellings or grammar mistakes would have been caught after I reviewed it again (which I usually do). I didn't catch it the first time before you changed it. Nevertheless, that entire article has been sloppy for way too long. It would make sense to correct the "cites required" or remove that content instead of worrying about all these minor petty issues you've been preoccupying yourself with, WG. Just a bit of advice. And this nonsense about having the final "word" and changing every edit that another editor makes (leaving your mark or having battles) is a bit ridiculous/disruptive and a violation of OWN. That is not an attack on you personally, let's make this clear right away since WG isn't aware of what personal attacks really are it seems, it is a criticism of the behavior and poor editing. Just saying, in general... I've seen it on the articles you watch for years now, so I'm not just making it up. At any rate, take care! :) 99.129.112.89 (talk) 07:29, 5 May 2013

Hallo. I don't know if you noticed, but I actually tagged that article for speedy-A7, and the author removed it. I warned them about that, but I thought I'd just let you know, if you want to restore the A7. Or not. I just imagine it's quite likely the author will remove the PROD soon. Cheers! Ignatzmicetalk 17:55, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops; I see that now. Is it acceptable for me to CSD tag it after I've already tagged it for PROD? – 296.x (talk) 17:58, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I'd think so. Edit summary like "restoring CSD removed by author" or something.
P.S. Don't know if you've seen all the kerfluffle regarding Notifications and the orange bar, but one of the positive things is that you can now "ping" someone by wikilinking to their username when you reply, or by using the {{replyto|Username}} template. Ignatzmicetalk 18:02, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
@Ignatzmice: Nice! Thanks for the tip. – 296.x (talk) 18:04, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
