Updates to NSN[edit]

I am the digital campaigns officer at New Schools Network, and would like to request some changes which will reflect updates to the organisation.

1) Please could the introduction be amended, to reflect our campaigning activity and pre-opening support:

The charity supports groups setting up free schools within the English state education sector. They also campaign to identify and encourage good new free school applicants to come forward and support successful applicants as they prepare to open their schools.[1]

2) Please could update the last paragraph of the history section, which hasn't been updated since 2013:

Evans left the organisation in 2015. Nick Timothy, special adviser to then Home Secretary, Theresa May MP, became Director[2]. Timothy was appointed joint Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister when Theresa May MP replaced David Cameron[3].

In 2016, NSN announced a new Advisory Council, drawing on expertise from across the political and education spectrum. The Advisory Council includes former schools minister, David Laws, and Sally Morgan, who served as chair of Ofsted from 2011 to 2014. The council also includes Suella Fernandes, a prominent member of the education select committee, and several experts with links to the last Labour government[4].

In 2016, it was announced that journalist and free school founder Toby Young would become Director in January 2017.[5]

3) the section titled 'free schools open in 2011' is very out of date, and also links to the general 'Free school (England) page. We would recommend removing this, or having a link under 'open free schools'. I will be providing an updated list of open free schools on the 'Free school (England)' page in due course. Hi there. An NPOV edit request should be made at the specific article's talk page, as per Wikipedia:Edit_requests#Planning_a_request, giving an opportunity to involved editors to reach a consensus on whether or not a change should be made. After a consensus has been reached, or if there isn't any clear opposition to the proposal, the template should be placed, and an independent editor (such as myself) will consider the edit, and make it if it seems suitable. Request denied due to incorrect procedure. Regards, VB00 (talk) 12:16, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
