March 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Sideswipe9th. I noticed that you recently removed content from Bridget (Guilty Gear) without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Request reason:

I think Bridget's page should be edited by including her actual Gender (the biological one) in the infobox, so that people can immediately acquire the information without having to read the whole page. Forgive my insistence on editing, but yours seems to be an equal insistence on 'ignoring the biological gender (or sex if you want) of the characters, as if you wanted to purposely hide it, follow a narrative. Therefore, I propose to include at least both Biological Sex and Gender Identity in the infobox. It would be more constructive instead of arguing and blocking people. Wikipedia should contain information as democratically as possible. It is not your personal fanpage.

Decline reason:

Wikipedia is not a democracy and not about "true information"; Wikipedia summarizes what independent reliable sources state and allows readers to determine what they believe for themselves. You are free to have whatever beliefs about gender you wish, but if those beliefs prevent you from abiding by our policies, you won't be permitted to edit. If you persist with your inappropriate edits after the block is over, the blocks will get longer and unblocking you will have more conditions(like being barred from editing about gender). Consider your next moves carefully. 331dot (talk) 09:06, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

So I misunderstood what Wikipedia is about, I admit I never read those policies you linked to, I thought it was a portal of true and democratically accepted information. I was wrong. However, there is still an error on this Bridget page, because if you type "Female" in the Gender section, it contains a link describing female biological sex, which is objectively wrong for this character. You cannot deny even the science, the evidence. All right this is a fictional character, I hope there are no such errors with real existing people, and I would not want to investigate furter. I think the infobox should be corrected. There is blatant inconsistency. If you want at all costs to keep "Female", remove the embedded link, and write in the infobox "Gender Identity," not Gender alone, which has now become an ambiguous word. I hope I have accurately described the problem, and if my proposal will be rejected again, I will begin to think that Wikipedia is part of a communist regime. I'll move on, it's not the end of the world, I was just using a wrong website.

Decline reason:

If you move on, it's not the end of the world, and if you wish to express your political and social leanings, it quite certainly is the wrong website for you. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 14:36, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
