Welcome![edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Kevin Morris (writer), which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Legal issues[edit]

Regarding Zoe Saldana's signature, Wikipedia doesn't simply take down information about a person simply because the subject requests it. Therefore, disclosing yourself as an attorney can be construed as a legal threat, which Wikipedia has zero tolerance for. If there is an actual legal reason you believe it should be taken down, you should contact the Wikimedia Foundation's legal department rather than directly editing pages. —{CrypticCanadian} 00:50, 12 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Cryptic Canadian. Thank you for your response here. This is not intended to be a legal threat. Signatures of Living Persons states: "Concerns about privacy and identity theft make it imperative that signatures be removed upon the request of the subject." I mention that we are Zoe's attorneys solely to illustrate that we are requesting this removal on her behalf. Therefore, we again request on her behalf that her signature be removed from this website due to concerns about privacy and identity theft. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 38.107.113.2 (talkcontribs)
I'm sympathetic to a living person who may be harmed by having anyone in the world able to falsely sign the person's name to a digital document (forgery). I've been trying to get rid of some signatures over at Commons, but the folks there are very sluggish in speed, and they are capricious in their interpretations of legal standing. Here on Wikipedia, we can create a local consensus for this biography alone which differs from general practice. All that's necessary is to conduct a WP:Request for Comment and poll the community. If the consensus is to refrain from using the signature, then that consensus will stand. Binksternet (talk) 04:49, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Binksternet. Appreciate the response. Should I open the request for comment on Zoe's page or on the file's page at Commons? Thanks, again.
This help desk question may have resolved the situation.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 22:07, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
