November 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Fragrant Peony. I noticed that you recently removed content from Egyptians without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Hispanic and Latino Americans, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. Hello, I'm LilianaUwU. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to Romani people in Greece because they seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to African Americans in Tennessee. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism can result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Adakiko (talk) 09:06, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to History of African Americans in Texas, you may be blocked from editing. Materialscientist (talk) 06:24, 12 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at African Americans in Tennessee shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in being blocked from editing—especially, as the page in question is currently under restrictions from the Arbitration Committee, if you violate the one-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than one revert on a single page with active Arbitration Committee restrictions within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the one-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the one-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Hello, I'm Adakiko. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Romani society and culture, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Adakiko (talk) 08:27, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to Romani cuisine. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Adakiko (talk) 08:33, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I'm reverting one of your edits to Edyta Górniak removing her signature. Wikipedia does include signature images for informational purposes for many notable figures, so I've replaced it. If you believe it should remain removed, please make a point for this at Talk:Edyta Górniak. Thank you! Bsoyka (talk) 03:11, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed your recent edit to Dutch people does not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits a summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Copyright violations[edit]

Please stop copying and pasting random stuff from the net on to the Mexicans article. It's copyright violation and causes a lot of inconvenience for the people who have to clean up afterwards. Thanks. - Hunan201p (talk) 07:58, 3 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop[edit]

You have been adding demographic data to articles using this source, which uses outdated 2000 census data. Please note:

  • "The US Census should be the primary source of demographic data. If census estimates or other reliable sources of demographic data are included, the additional data should supplement – not replace – the most recent available data from the decennial census," per WP:USCITIES#Demographics.

Please stop using this source. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 08:42, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The source cited lists three sources from which it obtains demographic data, and one of those sources is the 2000 census. The other two sources it uses are unspecified, which means that saying "In 2000" may also be inaccurate. Please discuss before continuing to add this source.
