Woah[edit]

You are there! It's nice to get a rollback failed message from you. KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 21:48, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hehe, well it's been a long time so I just decided to come back and do a little bit of stufffff :) I'm out of practice though, you seem to be getting them all! — Xy7 (talk) 21:50, 08 January 2008
Ahh I sure do miss you Phil. Thanks for protecting Luna's talk page. I've protected it, so heads up, they might go after you next. :/ KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 16:12, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No worries :) It'll be good to be popular with the vandals again :P — Xy7 (talk) 16:13, 09 January 2008
Heh, you mean like this? :D. They will remember you, and you'll pwn like the good old days. You can put my run of being the fastest vandal fighter to shame! Haven't seen ya on the good ole IRC though. KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 16:16, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't even know where the IRC channel is these days. If I find it I might pop in at some point :) — Xy7 (talk) 16:20, 09 January 2008
Here :P No worry about it though. :) KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 16:22, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Seems they've vandalised after final warning. And per the revision on Skate, gosh you are fast with messages :) Rudget. 19:25, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mind me. He's been blocked. Thanks anyway, Rudget. 19:26, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Whoops, didn't realise you'd got to the revert before me, sorry about that! :) — Xy7 (talk) 19:32, 09 January 2008

Feminism[edit]

well let me explain myself, i 'experimented' the article Feminism as an act of reflecting the feminist movement commonly understood by many as an experiment itself. Failed as it may be, I'll refrain from depicting my ideologies however popular they may be on that particular page unless i spot obvious anomalous information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.76.76.248 (talk) 20:25, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey[edit]

Say w/e you want but alot of stuff is nonsense... you can be free to criticize but when your talking about the Quran thats offensive, so please stop being offensive towards a major religion just because you have some preconcieved notions by birth of being hateful. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.27.75.229 (talkcontribs)

You were removing whole sections from the article. Additionally, do you really consider this edit as productive? — Xy7 (talk) 21:02, 09 January 2008

Samuel Aba of Hungary[edit]

There is a great deal of historical data on hand. You are entering unsupported data. Why? What is you angle? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.91.54.87 (talkcontribs)

To me it just looked like you were removing content for no reason. To make it clear that you're removing content in good faith, please use edit summaries in future. Thanks :) — Xy7 (talk) 23:08, 09 January 2008
Where are you trying to get with your story. What is you ojective? Your information is inacurate and going somewhere? Why? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.91.54.87 (talkcontribs)
I have already given you an explanation. — Xy7 (talk) 23:19, 09 January 2008
What do you nean "Samuel I Aba". Where did you get this information. There was only Samuel Aba, and that is it. NO "!". Why are you trying to create a Fairytale from this historical figure. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.91.54.87 (talk) 23:23, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I did not write this article, I know nothing on the subject. I've explained why you were reverted. Please sign your posts on talk pages too. — Xy7 (talk) 23:25, 09 January 2008

Your warning to 209.68.98.10[edit]

In this edit you placed a final warning to someone whose edit history didn't necessarily warrant it. I have placed a subsequent level 3 warning. HokieRNB (talk) 17:48, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that. The user made two 'vandalistic' edits in a short space of time and they were issued a warning automatically by my monobook. Thanks for clearing it up. — Xy7 (talk) 17:52, 10 January 2008

Hi Xy7. You blocked this user recently and I declined their request for an unblock. The user has now come back with a source for the change they were trying to make to the Sarah Harding page and it looks reasonable. I am inclined to unblock them and help them make a properly sourced edit. I'd like to get your thoughts first as the blocking admin. Best, Gwernol 19:34, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just Me?[edit]

Is it just me, or are there a terribly large number of page blanking's today? I know you are working on it cause I keep getting my rollbacks stomped by you ^_^. Well done. --ShakataGaNai Talk 18:32, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks :) Yeah I've noticed that, perhaps because it's Friday? Ah well :) — Xy7 (talk) 18:34, 11 January 2008

Heh[edit]

Did I beat you to the *rollback* on that Californian city vandalism? ;-) Now I know why admins used to beat me in the past! :-D -- Mentifisto 19:15, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops sorry about that :P — Xy7 (talk) 19:17, 11 January 2008
Sorry about what? :-) I'm just enthusiastic about this rollback. I have no idea why the community could make such a fuss about it when it clearly could help in reducing the amount of vandalism (since it's faster, so more vandal reverts would be made). -- Mentifisto 19:23, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just sorry that I warned the user instead of you by accident :) I'm glad to see you're making good use of the tools! Keep up the good work, — Xy7 (talk) 19:25, 11 January 2008
Thanks. But no problem about warning users instead of me, in fact I don't mind since instead of doing that I could continue patrolling (and now warnings (still made with TW) have become extra-slow so I'm not particularly eager on them). -- Mentifisto 19:28, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User:207.190.81.34[edit]

I am increasingly concerned at the damaging vandalism by User:207.190.81.34. I have just seen this which had gone unreverted. I notice that your level 4 warning has not been heeded. I now think that a 3 month block is appropriate. However, since you have given a further warning I don't want to impose one over your head. I should welcome your reaction, please. TerriersFan (talk) 20:05, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ah yes, I see. I blocked them for 8 weeks, I hope you think this is reasonable :) Thanks, — Xy7 (talk) 20:13, 11 January 2008
Indeed I do; thank you for your reconsideration. TerriersFan (talk) 20:17, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

hello[edit]

can you help me? i'm trying to put up a page about a theatre director in new york and it keeps coming down. i can't get the reference page to load. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheatreKid01 (talkcontribs) 01:14, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The page was originally deleted due to non-notability (please see WP:NN), and therefore all recreations of the same article will be deleted. Hope this helps, — Xy7 (talk) 01:17, 12 January 2008

Speedy Delete mixup[edit]

My apologies for the confusion on the Nathan mowry page (thankfully deleted, once again). I seemed to inadvertantly recreate the article, presumably due to it being deleted at the same time I was trying to nominate it for SD. My contribution to the page was not intended! Regards, ŞůṜīΣĻ¹98¹Speak 01:18, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem whatsoever! :) — Xy7 (talk) 01:19, 12 January 2008I

No Problem[edit]

The block was no problem, after all, it is better to block and rethink than let go unblocked, I was testing the functionality of an irc bot. Maybe putting pages "on wheels" isn't a good idea :P Thedjatclubrock :) (T/C) 17:19, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that, it turns out that we'd had an on-wheels attack just minutes before so I jumped to it without paying much attention :P Sorry again, — Xy7 (talk) 17:22, 12 January 2008

Please use friendlier test templates[edit]

I would like to encourage you to use friendlier templates in response to vandalism. For first-time vandals, it's good to use {{subst:test}} . This gives them a friendly, encouraging message that invites them to get involved in Wikipedia. In response to this somewhat less friendly message from you, this user posted an apology at the help desk explaining that they'd hit "edit" by mistake. Remember, first-time vandalism often really is some sort of test. --Coppertwig (talk) 20:51, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure thing. — Xy7 (talk) 21:02, 12 January 2008

Regarding the "Fred Negro" page[edit]

Dear Xy7, I have it on good authority that during an appearance at the Mutant Wrestling performances Fred Negro did indeed behave in the explicit manner described therein. May I ask why you removed it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.185.175.159 (talk) 14:53, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm I've had another look, and it doesn't really look notable enough to be kept in the article. However if you can find a source for this claim, I won't revert again if you re-enter it into the article. — Xy7 (talk) 14:55, 13 January 2008

Can you please block him? They have got two sets of complete warnings, and they are still vandalising non-stop. Thanks, Crazy Boris with a red beard (talk) 15:15, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks :D — Xy7 (talk) 15:58, 13 January 2008

Hi there, a little less than a year ago, you kept the above article when it went up for AFD, I was wondering if you could cast your eye over the article and reconsider? I still believe it should of been deleted, and in fact, I think it might come under advertising, but I wanted to see what you think before I formally nominate for deletion review. -- Ļıßζېấשּׂ~ۘ Ώƒ ﻚĢęخ (talk) 01:46, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I can't really change my mind on this one after such a long time has passed since the AfD. The AfD, however, did not reach a consensus which is was why it was closed as such. I have also removed the AfD notice that you tagged the page with, as it links to an out-of-date AfD. If you are still unhappy with the outcome of the old AfD, I would suggest re-nominating the article for deletion rather than nominating it for deletion review, as Wikipedia:Deletion Review states This process should not be used simply because you disagree with a deletion debate's outcome but instead if you think the debate itself was interpreted incorrectly by the closer, and in my opinion the original closure of the AfD was justified. However please feel free to nominate it for deletion review instead if you think it's necessary, I have no objections. — Xy7 (talk) 13:47, 14 January 2008
Ah ok, thanks. How do you nominate without the old discussion coming up again? I don't want to have to delete it? -- Ļıßζېấשּׂ~ۘ Ώƒ ﻚĢęخ (talk) 19:48, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Create a page such as Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Masterdisk (2nd nomination) and follow the same procedure :) — Xy7 (talk) 19:49, 14 January 2008

Rudget![edit]

Dear Xy7, my sincere thanks for your support in my second request for adminship, which ended with 113 supports, 11 opposes, and 4 neutral. I would especially like to thank my admin coach and nominator, Rlevse and Ryan Postlethwaite who in addition to Ioeth all inspired me to run for a second candidacy. I would also like to make a special mention to Phoenix-wiki, Dihyrdogen Monoxide and OhanaUnited who all offered to do co-nominations, but I unfortunately had to decline. I had all these funny ideas that it would fail again, and I was prepared for the worst, but at least it showed that the community really does have something other places don't. Who would have though Gmail would have been so effective? 32 emails in one week! (Even if it does classify some as junk :P) I'm glad that I've been appointed after a nail biting and some might call, decision changing RFA, but if you ever need anything, just get in touch. The very best of luck for 2008 and beyond, Rudget. 16:40, 15 January 2008 (UTC) [reply]

GeForce 9 vandalism[edit]

Hi.

The user 213.140.6.116 keeps fucking around with the technical specifications table on the GeForce 9 page. He keeps moving it in the bottom of the page and removes a few lines.

He did it for the 6th time already and it's getting annoying. Can you please block the ip ?

Thank you. Iulian28ti (talk) 17:46, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I need graphics editing help[edit]

I noticed you are listed to help people in designing their user pages.

Well, I need help with a similar type of thing - graphics editing.

I'm preparing to coordinate this:

and for it I'm developing some awards. Each award will include an image, and that's where I need help...

I've got to have all the awards done by July 15th, and I don't even have the first one finished yet.

I'm looking for someone who knows how (or is interested in jumping in and learning how) to work on images in xcf format using GIMP, or Inkscape, etc. (Because I and others will need to be able to edit each image's layers after you are done with it).

If this sounds like something you are interested in helping with, please drop me a note.

By the way, both GIMP and Inkscape are free, making it easy to get started from scratch.

I look forward to your reply.

Deletionist[edit]

Has wikipedia turned into a cult of deletionists? You have speedily deleted the article about American Society of Nephrology (ASN) which a large not-for-profit organization of 11,000 physicians and scientists and publishes multiple internationally renowned medical journals. Probably your next action is going to be the deletion of American Heart Association and American Lung Association articles. Mohit Agarwal (talk) 08:37, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I apologise. Nevertheless, the article needs improving, and sourcing, otherwise I'll probably look towards AfD'ing in the near future. — Xy7 (talk) 12:53, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Libeled page not protected.[edit]

Re [1]: I can't watchlist every page that's libeled and which I handle at OTRS - there's a permanent backlog with BLP vandalising on these non notable articles. Please semi-protect, watchlist and manually revert all the libel, or salt. -- Jeandré, 2008-09-22t14:34z

I must be missing something, because to me, a page with only 8 edits this year doesn't require semi-protection. However I've taken your word for it seeing as I've probably missed a lot when I was away. — Xy7 (talk) 14:45, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for getting the vandal on my talk page, have a cookie for that.--res2216firestar 16:43, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. Thanks :) — Xy7 (talk) 23:49, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Defender of the Wiki Barnstar
I,Mr. Old-Skool, award you, Xy7, this barnstar in doing such a wonderful job in defending Wikipedia! (talk) 23:40, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So, you haven't helped me directly, but you have helped many and Wikipedia itself in getting rid of unwanted "contributors," so I just wanted to present this award to you as a thanks for what you do!

THANKS!!! Mr. Old-Skool (talk) 23:40, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! :) — Xy7 (talk) 23:50, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion review for Bishop Brigante[edit]

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Bishop Brigante. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article, speedy-deleted it, or were otherwise interested in the article, you might want to participate in the deletion review. -- Suntag 13:58, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

These bizarre Tania Head deletions[edit]

The twice-blocked 88.2.21.225 has now apparently come back as 68.175.66.17 to delete the Idontlikeit sections from Tania Head. I've left a medium-strength warning since he or she is obviously not a newbie, but history suggests it's going to be another 3RR. Scolaire (talk) 07:52, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings, Xy7. There seems to have been some complication with your recent semi-protection of this article. Not only was the padlock set for five days while the protection was in fact indefinite, but the protection was not recorded in the logs, causing an irrelevant fragment from 2007 (the last entry in the protection log) to appear at the top of the editing window, referring to unprotection of the article right below the "this page is semi-protected" message! Any clue as to the source of this mess?

Thank you for your time. Waltham, The Duke of 21:55, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Um yeah, sorry. I think the source of this problem is Twinkle, at the time I hadn't realised there was a problem but I'm not using it anymore now until it's fixed. I've asked about it and reported a bug but no response yet. — Xy7 (talk) 08:46, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I had no idea Twinkle had a problem—maybe because I use it about once every two months. :-) All right, thanks for the quick reply. Waltham, The Duke of 09:22, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted talk page with warning?[edit]

I was thinking of leaving a warning for an IP that keeps adding an external link, but when I got to their talk page I found you had deleted your warning to them? I'm just mystified. Are they 'special'? :-) Shenme (talk) 06:41, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I must've either left the wrong warning at the time and forgotten to replace it, or had a completely random change of heart. I don't even remember it myself. But no they're nothing special :P So feel free to leave that warning. — Xy7 (talk) 08:48, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New Zealand[edit]

You removed the semi-protection for this article a bit over a week ago, but an established editor has suggested that given the level of drive-by vandalism, semi-protection makes sense. As the original protecting admin, I agree even though I am a staunch believer in anon right to edit. You might like to add your view to Talk:New Zealand#Protection back?.-gadfium 07:29, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism after a last warning.[edit]

Dear administrator, at 18:05, 20 February 2006 you issued a "last warning" to user: 207.96.176.72 for vandalism. However, at/on 17:34, 2 October 2008 this user vandalized the article: Malapropism by changing "Norm Crosby" to "fuck Crosby" and again at/on 17:39, 2 October 2008 he/she vandalized the same article by changing "Busting children" to "fucking children". I'm going to fix those articles. Please ban this user. Thanks, 70.119.126.195 (talk) 01:08, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

2006?! That was two and a half years ago, I think that final warning would've expired by now. Please take it to WP:AIV if the user continues to vandalise. — Xy7 (talk) 14:49, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
