December 2016[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Jdcomix. I noticed that you made a change to an article, 2016–17 South Pacific cyclone season, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

hPa conversion[edit]

Please stop changing the conversion of 996 mbar to 29.42 inHg. The true conversion is 29.41. Please learn maths! Also anyhow, even if its using the code where the computer automatically converts it itself it's still going to say .41. Thank you. Typhoon2013 (talk) 03:34, 20 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for replying. Though that is the NHC, where it is only used in the EPac and Atl basins. Also, the rule is, that it goes up in 3s (eg. 990=29.23; 991=29.26). Learn maths in other basins please. -- Typhoon2013 22:32, 20 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well actually to be very honest, because I've been editing here for 3 years, it depends on the basin really. I mostly edit the WPac and possibly the AusR basins and I just use the right terms. Though also it doesn't really matter why we're arguing about this,at least 29.41 is really close to 29.42. Also I think you're the only one doing this because other users do 29.41 for 996 hPa. Anon users like you use 29.42 for some reason so I don't know if you're a bot or not. -- Typhoon2013 00:02, 21 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User??[edit]

Hi again. Despite from the recent convo ^^, would you like to be a user and be part of the Wikiproject? You don't really have to but I've seen your edits and thank you so much for helping. Typhoon2013 (talk) 02:41, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
