News Crack is the name of a clip-based topical comedy sketch show, on Channel 4, with Michael Abubakar, Steve Brody, Sophie Duker, Taya De La Cruz, Candy Gigi, Francis Higgins, Maya Hulse, Alex Lowe, Tom Machell, Jonathan Pointing, Beth Rylance, Emma Sidi, Mark Silcox, Rebecca Shorrocks, Nico Tatarowicz, and Martin Trenaman,[2][4] first broadcast by Channel 4 on Thursday 12 July 2018, at 23:05.[5][6]
Production
[edit]Guy Davidson and Dan Clarke, who work under the name Mother's Best Child, writers and producers of video mash-ups, sketches that use re-edited news footage, such as Sabotage, videos for BBC Three and on Facebook.[7][8] News Crack, originally called Antisocial Media,[9] was commissioned by Syeda Irtizaali at Channel 4, with Electric Ray as the production company.[9][10]
