I checked with the Ontario Ministry of Labour in May, 2018, and SLOW, the Street Labourer's Union of Windsor, is not an accredited union in Ontario, Canada. It is doubtful, also, that the Ottawa Panhandler's Union is an accredited union, although I have not checked. It appears to me that these organizations are "cop shops," i.e. security service organizations created to discredit legitimate unions with questionable behaviour and discourse, which is not to say that all of their discourse is illegitimate. The IWW in Ottawa, to my knowledge, did not even collect dues until I questioned one member, Mr. John Hollingsworth, of Ottawa, circa 2009, about this IWW practice of not collecting dues. Basically, I asked how they could call themselves a union if they do not collect dues? Mr. Hollingsworth later informed me that they had begun collecting dues.
