Nob Nation[edit]

Well you seem to have removed quite a lot of stuff I didn't write. In fact pretty much the entire article. Which I recently did some tidy-up work on. Perhaps you would care to explain more explicitly what you mean by that message. Oh, and please sign your name when you leave a message. I have done so at the end just to show you a good example. (Logging in would also be more convenient for us all). --➨Candlewicke  :) Sign/Talk 00:27, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And I restored the article. If you think it should be deleted then nominate it at AFD .Garda40 (talk) 02:13, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reply[edit]

"daily and is ranked number one in the national radio listenership category of 20-44 year olds"

It is!

Cite us please.

"The series features almost 100 characters, including BIFFO, Enda Kenny, Plastic Selecting and dozens more"

It does! (granted a rewording is needed)

Crufty Goodness - read the link I provided initially

"The album debuted at #5 on the Irish Albums Chart ahead of Amy Winehouse and Bruce Springsteen"

It did! (my contribution to that was, I think, removing the erroneous inclusion of Britney Spears or some such person which was inaccurate)

More crufty goodness - if I want to know what it was above, I'd look it up. This is more of the OMG GR8 LOL Sunday World type PR fluff.

"Some of this seems to have been written by Callan as it comes across as a first year PR student effort. He's just short of finishing every sentence with a series of exclamation marks."

That's an opinion. I am not him and have never met him. I tried to improve a difficult page; if you check out the state it was in before my edits you should hopefully see that.
Opinions are like ______; everybody has one.

PEACOCK TERMS http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Avoid_peacock_terms

"Two CDs have been released to celebrate the best Nob Nation sketches, one in 2007 and a follow-up in 2008."

They were...
"The Best" a peacock term.

"Nob Nation also habitually resides in the top five of the iTunes chart"

It does...
Habitually resides - awful English, Peacocking stuff anyway.

"The first Nob Nation CD, containing twenty popular sketches"

It did, they were if sales and downloads are anything to go by...
More fanboy goodness.

EXTERNAL LINK SPAMMING http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Spam#External_link_spamming

"Links to CDworld - this is clearly just to get more orders in for this CD."

Inaccurate statement. From my viewing that particular "link" is a reference. As far as I can see it serves the purpose of proving the CD's existence until a more reliable source can be located... I am fairly sure there is a difference between blatant overlinking and including an inline citation.
No need for it, the CD must exist if it sold so well, no?

"and fourthly, the Irish Wikipedian's favourite, NPOV"

???!!! :/

"No explanation needed, I hope!"

I'm afraid so... that could be implying any number of things... :(
