April 2023[edit]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did at Psychotic Supper. Binksternet (talk) 00:37, 10 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I did not "introduce incorrect information". That is the title of the song on the back cover of the album. Here's a photo of the back cover. So don't falsely accuse me of "vandalism". https://archive.org/download/tesla_psychotic_b/tesla_psychotic_b.jpg
The song has a title, and it has a sub-title. You are mixing those things together. Binksternet (talk) 14:37, 10 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia includes the subtitles on pretty much every other article why is Tesla an exception?
Some examples include: "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)", "Living Loving Maid (She's Just a Woman)", "Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)", "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction", "(Don't Fear) The Reaper", "Exit Music (For a Film)" I could go on. Wikipedia keeps these subtitles intact so why can't the subtitle for the tracks on the Tesla album be included? Wikipedia does seem to have a problem with different pages following different rules.
The Tesla song "Song & Emotion" is not widely shown with its subtitle, unlike your examples. AllMusic doesn't show the subtitle,[1] Spotify doesn't,[2] Sleaze Roxx doesn't,[3] and Deezer doesn't.[4] The LP label doesn't show it,[5] even though the CD label does show it. The inconsistency in sources is why I am standing firm on removing it. It's not universal enough. Binksternet (talk) 19:00, 10 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This is why you're better going elsewhere for information about albums. There is no good reason at all to not include the subtitles. They inform the reader that it exists. I added a note stating the subtitles are only on the original pressings. To hide the information completely as though it doesn't exist is just wrong to me and against the entire point of an Encyclopedia. 80.189.121.239 (talk)
This isn't how it works here on Wikipedia. One of the core policies of Wikipedia (WP:RS) states that information should be based on "reliable, published sources". If that piece of information cannot be supported with a source, it generally should not be included. I looked up the title for that song through multiple searchs and could not find a single article or source where the subtitle is included. A link to the picture is not enough to support it. HorrorLover555 (talk) 19:34, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Something not being widely reported doesn't change facts. 80.189.121.239 (talk) 19:29, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You're missing the point. If there are no large sources regarding it and if not covered by published sources such as magazines, newspapers, etc., it should not be included. Please read WP:RS and WP:VERIFY to understand why we have these rules in the first place. Just because an image says so, does not mean that you are right. It's not a fact, it's part of the policy here on Wikipedia. Again, an image is not good enough to cover on it. HorrorLover555 (talk) 00:10, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So basically the correct full title to something that's literally written on the record cannot be used if it's not in magazines and newspapers? I mean you'd be quite hard pressed to find a semi-obscure hard rock album from 1991 being mentioned in any magazines and newspapers these days. So by that logic the album doesn't even exist. 80.189.121.239 (talk) 10:19, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's not what I am talking about. Also, me and Binksternet have done our best to explain these to you, but it is becoming clear that you are not listening. You seem to treat Wikipedia like a battlefield in which you need to come out on top, even though we have explained that it is not acceptable. Please stop using that image link as your source when we have already disputed that your source is inconsistent. HorrorLover555 (talk) 13:22, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

August 2023[edit]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia as you did at Mechanix. BoxxyBoy (talk) 22:11, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Putting correct facts in an article is not "vandalism". Metallica released and recorded the song in 1982. Megadeth released it in 1985. Therefore it's a Metallica song not a Megadeth song. Megadeth's version is a cover. Megadeth literally didn't even exist when Mechanix was first released. 80.189.121.239 (talk) 12:17, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Please comment at the newly created Talk page section related to the Mechanix article here: [6]. Thanks, David O. Johnson (talk) 22:01, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
