Remember to always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes (~~~~)
at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your IP address (linked to your contributions page. However, if you create an account, your IP address will be hidden and you will be able to build a custom signature that can link to your own user page), a link to this (this IP's talk) page, and a timestamp.
To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. If you create an account, you can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you could put a link to it on your user page.

I haven't got a clue what all this is about. Computers are beyond me. I just want to add to your entry on Max Marchand, Dutch chess player. I have added, place of birth, date and place of death (plus where the information comes from). I have added one sentence to the biography.
If you want people to help you, all this needs to be SIMPLE. 81.100.80.251 (talk) 10:53, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, IP 81+ – I can identify with all that. I began editing Wikipedia as an IP editor, also. And I highly recommend that you register to have access to all of this project's HELP features. It'll make things much simpler for you. Later, I shall go ahead and "fix" the page you edited, and perhaps you will learn something from that as well. Here's wishing you Joys! and Best of Everything to You and Yours! – Paine 11:26, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
