There is only British Citizenship. One can take a nationality, de jure, as Gambon did, but one cannot change ethnicity. It is an insult to Gambon to call him ethnically English. What kind of nationalism are you referring to? Have a read of the definition of nationality, most Americans and many English are confused about what defines nationality.
