1. Brief History 230 Medium Regiment was raised on 07 January 1985, with 3 Btys 2301, 2302, 2303 as South Indian Class, Maratha & Ahirs respectively. These subunit were later on converted to All India All Class (AIAC) in 1987. The unit participated in the Republic Day parade at Kolkata in January 1989. In August 1998, unit was mobilised for operational Parakram and remained deployed in the Western theatre for more than a year. Unit took active part in trans-border fire assaults in Kargil in Jan 2003. The unit participated in the Exercise Desert Strike, Exercise Dakshin Shakti and Exercise Brazen Chariots along Western Front. The Unit participated in bilateral Exercise with Singapore Army at School of Arty Devlali, in 2015 and 2016. The unit also participated in ops to counter any offensives by China during the Doklam standoff wherein a Battery strength was moved to forward location along Northern Borders to counter Chinese threat. Unit took part in Operation Chaukas in both 2018 and 2019. The Unit has significantly contributed to the Flood Relief Operations in Northwest India wherein the unit showcased the motto of “Service Before Self” by heroically saving 1656 lives. 2.
