Can a section about women and another one about child abuse be added?
[edit]Hello, Really nice page on the Gospel Halls, very thought out. This webpage is serving as a go-to for people learning. Not sure if that was the intention, but people do look to this Wiki page for guidance and reference. As a woman and single mother not brought up in the assembly, is it possible to add a section about women to the page? Proposal: In general, if you are a woman, this is what you can expect if you decide to attend a Gospel Hall: Wearing a head covering, like a hat or a veil during church services is encouraged. Modest dress is also encouraged, but each church is different, some are more casual than others. Women can teach the Bible to other women and children. Women can not teach in public to an audience of both men and women, or men at all, for that matter publically. (1 Timothy) Women's spiritual gifts are encouraged. (Romans 12:6) Women can not be elders of an Assembly.
Separately, related to women's participation, it would be really nice if the topic of child abuse can be addressed. Many of the mothers talk about it, women discuss it, we know it happens yet there is an abnormal amount of lack of transparency. The Reddit threads on this topic - specific to the Gospel Halls- are increasing, and it is seeming more and more suspicious, that this topic continues not to be addressed. Perhaps a statement on how the bible has strict consequences for those who harm a child? Anything would be better than nothing at this point. The Catholics have an anonymous hotline, a special mass dedicated to the abused, and have elevated the sin of child abuse to the highest level- a sin that leads a victim vulnerable to satanic possession. Regardless, if it's a response to lawsuits, as single mothers, it's comforting to know that there is a method to deal with those types of situations.
Also, a section on how the Gospel Hall Community evaluates itself and holds itself accountable would also be helpful.
Thank you for your consideration.Friday28 (talk) 22:19, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
