The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
For your anti-vandalism efforts! Woerich (talk) 17:50, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Woerich: Thank you very much for my first medal! ✍ A.WagnerC (talk) 18:25, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Note[edit]

Hi, don't worry, I've made the same mistake, but Imo the edit to the NHS page was disruptive edit, not vandalism. Also, in Twinkle, I would've used Rollback (AGF) (Assume Good Faith) as the editor had added the donation link in good faith. There was no need to immediately go to a level 2 warning either, a notice (level 1) would've been okay in this situation. Remember, we don't want to scare people off. Please ask me anything if you need any help, I'm learning too. JamesHSmith6789 (talk) 15:55, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

An addition: Well guess they insist on adding it :p Still disruptive, go up the warning scale from there and then if it is done again after the final warning, report to the admins. I probably don't have to tell you this. JamesHSmith6789 (talk) 15:58, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@JamesHSmith6789: Ok. Thanks. ✍ A.WagnerC (talk) 15:59, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

RedWarn[edit]

Greetings! I noticed you have been using Twinkle and was wondering if you'd like to beta test my new tool, RedWarn, specifically designed for the fastest vandalism reverts in the west (yee-haw!). If you're interested, please see see the RedWarn page for installation instructions. Otherwise, feel free to remove this message from your page. Your feedback is much appreciated! JamesHSmith6789 (talk) 01:30, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@JamesHSmith6789: I'm not a rollbacker yet in the enwiki. I tried to install the tool, but it was not possible. But thank you very much for introducing me to the tool. ✍ A.WagnerC (talk) 01:37, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You do not need rollback rights to use RedWarn. You just need to be an autoconfirmed/confirmed user, which you are. JamesHSmith6789 (talk) 01:39, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@JamesHSmith6789: I installed the script. Icons appeared on the edit differences screen, however, a warning appears below saying "Your account doesn't have permission to do that yet". And whenever I open my watchlist the message appears below again ✍ A.WagnerC (talk) 01:54, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That shouldn't be happening - there are no permission checks for Rollback actions, is that what you were trying to do? What browser are you using? JamesHSmith6789 (talk) 01:57, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@JamesHSmith6789: Chrome. I did not try anything. The message appears spontaneously and also every time I open any page on enwiki. ✍ A.WagnerC (talk) 01:58, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@JamesHSmith6789: But I could use the tool. It is working here. But the message showing up is boring. ✍ A.WagnerC (talk) 02:03, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I suspect this is an issue with having accounts over different Wikis. Apologies. Hopefully, a fix will come with multi-wiki support. JamesHSmith6789 (talk) 02:04, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@JamesHSmith6789: But the rollback doesn't work to me. ✍ A.WagnerC (talk) 02:05, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@JamesHSmith6789: Well, at least I helped by reporting the bugs. When you fix the bug, let me know so I can test it. ✍ A.WagnerC (talk) 02:09, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I've added your feedback to the bugsquasher. Hopefully when rev5 is out within the next several hours your problems should be resolved. JamesHSmith6789 (talk) 10:15, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

RedWarn - important info to get back up and running[edit]

Hey! Thanks for testing RedWarn. This is an important message to notify you that effective immediately, you need to change your common.js. This is due to my usurp request to change my username from an alias, JamesHSmith6789, to a more identifiable one, Ed6767 being accepted.

To do this, edit your config.js and remove the existing RedWarn script line and replace it with this one:

importScript("User:Ed6767/redwarn.js");

Click here to edit your common.js

And, here's another reminder to please, please, leave feedback and report all bugs on the talk page. By reporting bugs, you can help get them fixed by the next daily release.

Also, if you're interested in live discussion regarding the development and help with using RedWarn, why not join our new Discord server. It's easy to sign up and you can get help and chat with other RedWarn users.

Again, thank you so much for being willing to beta test RedWarn! I really appreciate it. Ed6767 (talk) 12:34, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Use the sandbox![edit]

There's a sandbox that you can use for testing RedWarn. See User talk:Sandbox for user warnings Ed6767 (talk) 18:48, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Ed6767: Thanks and sorry. I didn't know that page. ✍ A.WagnerC (talk) 18:51, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I mistook your "talk" with that of User talk: Sandbox for user warnings. The tool seems to be working, but there is a note that I sent on the page User talk:Ed6767/redwarn. ✍ A.WagnerC (talk) 19:01, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A message from Ed6767 about RedWarn[edit]

RedWarn - user feedback needed!
RedWarn - user feedback needed!

Hello RedWarn tester! I hate to reitterate, but thank you so much for being willing to test RedWarn, I really appreciate it.

In the past few updates, I have added AIV (admin) reporting, a preferences panel, themes, customisation options and made many, many bug fixes and added many features based on your suggestions and feedback.

Unfortunately, recently feedback has run dry.

Even if you do not use RedWarn at the moment, or you do (tysm), I would greatly appreciate feedback of any kind. While I go round Twinkle users, sounding like that broadband salesperson in the mall that nobody ever wants to speak to, I'd like some updated feedback from recent and current users.

Any sort of feedback below would be greately appreciated!

  • Your first impressions when you tried RedWarn?
  • How have you used RedWarn as time has gone on?
  • Would you value customisation features, such as macros or shortcuts, such as adding your own quick revert reasons so the tool can fit your exact editing practices?
  • Any suggestions for how I could promote the tool to a wider audience?
  • Would you appreciate a more developed and thorough user guide?
  • Any theme suggestions?
  • Anything you'd like changing?
  • Something you've always wanted to see in an anti-vandal tool? (I might add it!)
  • RedWarn app?
  • A way to introduce Recent Changes patrol to new users to make using RedWarn or other tools less daunting?
  • Any bugs, gripes, or things that just really annoy you about RedWarn?

Click the button below to begin a new section on the talk page

Leave Feedback

My goal is to create the most user friendly moderation tool, and that's why I need your feedback to help make this truely the most favorable anti-vandal tool. While we will never elliminate vandalism on this site, we can get closer to fighting it quickly and easily.

Many thanks for your continued support. Ed6767 (talk) 00:27, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you do not wish to get these feedback reminders, let me know on my talk page.

RedWarn - Quick Survey[edit]

To access the survey, visit: https://devices.edxt.net/redwarnSurvey

Thank you again for your continued feedback and support, it is greatly appreciated. Ed6767 talk! 22:16, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:47, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback[edit]

Hi A.WagnerC. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Beeblebrox (talk) 21:17, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Beeblebrox: Thank you very much. Yes, I will use the tool wisely. ✍A.WagnerC (talk) 23:36, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Military dictatorship[edit]

To counter your argument made here, the situation is that the article currently states pretty much that "xxx Military dictatorship was a military dictatorship". It's like, ok... Not only it doesn't look good aesthetically, but you have a little problem of pleonasm, in my opinion. But you do you. Cheers! Coltsfan (talk) 00:52, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

IGN citation problem[edit]

Hi! For some reason I got the notification late that I'd been mentioned in the post you made in Village pump (now archived, hence replying to it here). Effectively, the problem you report is with Zotero translators, which Wikipedia's Citation tool (via Citoid) uses. You can see that if you paste the URL to https://zbib.org/, which uses Zotero translators as well; you'll see it outputs the same wrong results. Apparently it's the IGN-specific translator which is failing. You can try reporting this to the Zotero translators repository: https://github.com/zotero/translators/issues. If it's fixed there, it's gonna be fixed in Wikipedia too. --Diegodlh (talk) 14:21, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Diegodlh, thank you. I sent an issue on the Zotero github. ✍A.WagnerC (talk) 15:31, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Diegodlh The issue was finally solved. ✍A.WagnerC (talk) 13:02, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
A.WagnerC Great! Thanks for letting me know. I was following the issue you had posted. I thought it was still pending. Did it somehow fix itself? --Diegodlh (talk) 14:13, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Diegodlh I posted the issue on Zotero's github. After a few months, an user replied to me saying that he had translated some things and probably solved the problem. After I tested and it's fine. ✍A.WagnerC (talk) 15:48, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
A.WagnerC I see the user proposed a change to the IGN-specific translator, but it wasn't merged to the official codebase. Apparently, the IGN-specific translator further broke now, making Zotero translation fallback to a generic embedded metadata translator, which seems to be getting the author metadata correctly. So, it's working because the IGN-specific translator stopped working. Hopefully the other metadata is being picked up correctly by the generic translator as well. --Diegodlh (talk) 16:50, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Brief Signature Suggestion[edit]

Good day! Hopefully you are still active. I was reading a talk page discussing signatures and your post was included. It so happens that your wee hand-edit icon was on a different line than the rest of the signature! I read earlier that it is suggested to use "non breaking spaces" So that this won't happen. Perhaps that change will make everyone less excited? Gallomimia (talk) 02:54, 29 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Gallomimia Sorry, I didn't see your message before, or I did but didn't remember to reply. The controversy has apparently been resolved. ✍A.WagnerC (talk) 13:06, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Esporte Clube Vitória.png[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Esporte Clube Vitória.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Autopatrolled granted[edit]

Hi A.WagnerC, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.

Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.

Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! TheSandDoctor Talk 18:17, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have granted this on a six month trial basis. As I explained in my closing statement and on my talk page, this wasn't a clear-cut decision and I came to it under the administrators' discretion part of WP:Autopatrolled#Obtaining the right (which borrows from the policy WP:IAR). I would prefer to see more non-stub article creations when granting this flag/user right (and hope to see you create more that are start class or above). However, I am more willing to grant it on a time-limited trial basis and, if nothing goes wrong, grant it indefinitely (that is, without a set expiry). When April or May roll around, feel free to request it indefinitely by pinging me and/or making the request at Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Autopatrolled; when you do make the request, please note in it that you had it on a six month trial basis. Should you have any questions relating to this user right or ever with to relinquish this flag, please let myself or another administrator know. We're here to help. Alert for discretionary sanctions applied to living people[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}} on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
