You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for obvious sock of someone evading CheckUser..
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  TonyBallioni (talk) 03:57, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Hello, dear. I am from Malta. I had been editing as an IP address previously but decided to create an account only recently because there were many things I couldn't do without a registered account. I like undoing vandalism and learned from editors like Serols, having seen them perform reversions on many articles. So I wanted to get into the game as well but there were obstacles such as requiring a rollback right to use anti-vandalism software. That was why I created an account. I am not "evading CheckUser", nor know whatever that means. Thank you. A Gift and a Curse (talk) 04:06, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I've had a look through your contributions, and you just don't seem to have grasped what Wikipedia is really about. As Tony is a checkuser, he can easily tell if you are lying or not; since he has produced evidence that you are, I'm not inclined to unblock. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

For the reviewing admin:

  1. You have not been editing Wikipedia previously that I could tell. If you were, you were using a different device. Your technical details would make it very easy to determine if you had been editing previously as an IP on the range you are using, so I don't believe this.
  2. You are using a user agent string that in my opinion is most likely spoofed.
  3. CheckUser data is consistent with the geolocation you state here (policy explicitly allows me to confirm this.) That being said, I think the odds of someone both being from Malta, a country that has virtually no presence on this project, and having a suspect user agent are very low.
  4. The behaviour is quite frankly overwhelming. Your first edit was creating a userpage trolling "Wiki-Masters" and you've been using script assisted edits since before you even installed the script.
  5. This is a normal admin block, not a CU block. The sock policy says that I can take into account the fact that the technical data doesn't add up when making blocks, which I did. That being said, it ultimately is a behavioural block and any administrator who disagrees with it is free to lift it (but I would appreciate a ping first).

  1. Dear, Tony. I have a MacBook Pro which I use at home. Typically I edited or read Wikipedia from my institution, their devices are different.
  2. I am not sure how that works or how to use it.
  3. I don't know about that but many people use Wikipedia here.
  4. I copied the userpage partially from this page: User:Reyk. And I have a default tool that allows me to use Javascript codes, so I didn't have to apply it on Wikipedia manually. However, as I became more interested in patrolling and read the userscript manual thoroughly, I decided to put it permanently on Wikipedia so I can use it anywhere on any device. Previously I could only use it on one device.
  5. Please unblock me, I would like to continue reverting vandalism, a thing I am fond of, because I feel Wikipedia is very valuable to the world and vandalism to it is disastrous so I'm keen on doing my part in helping. Thank you. A Gift and a Curse (talk) 08:08, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't know what to do! I thought I could help by looking for vandalism and removing it. My contributions are entirely reversions of vandalism. But it looks like people who do this get called a sock evading CU. How can I prove to you that I am not? In my last message, I was telling the truth. I don't even know the exact reason why I got blocked. I don't want to be misidentified as someone I'm not, if this is the case, please let me know how I can confirm myself. The part about "has produced evidence that you are", I'm not following this. What evidence? A Gift and a Curse (talk) 17:47, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
