Welcome!
[edit]Hello, AaronMcCann, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited appears to be an article about yourself. Writing about yourself is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians.
As this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. We require individuals to meet Wikipedia's definition of a notable person to accept articles about them. A page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
If your contributions to an existing article about yourself are undone and you wish to add to or change it, please propose the changes on its talk page.

- Thanks foir the reply.
- I'm actually making the page since I'm a feature film director here in Australia, a writer for TV and I've also worked with numerous people who have pages on Wikipedia.
- I'm just wondering about the best way to get a page active since I've been working in the indistry since 2010 and have accumuliated numerous awards, and film festival,s as well as having my features distributed theatrically.
- Any advice would be very helpful. AaronMcCann (talk) 02:05, 9 May 2023 (UTC)

- You mention that the content has been "taken" from the Pink pepper Website -- the bio listed is my own, which I have written myself and is a bio I send to all companies which I collaborate with. Pink pepper is another Australian production company which I collaborate with so how would yoy like to proceed -- shoudl the complete biography be rewritten for Wikipedia? - Because copyright arises automatically and doesn't need to be claimed, we have to assume that content which exists elsewhere is in copyright, unless it has been expressly released with a compatible Creative Commons licence, and therefore when we find a matching source we treat it as an apparent copyvio regardless.
- If you wish to 'donate' your copyright material to Wikipedia, you can find instructions for this at WP:DCM. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:11, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
