Welcome![edit]

Hello, Abbebren, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Unspecified source/license for File:Radford-Hill.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Radford-Hill.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Notes[edit]

Hi! I have some notes for your bio draft:

  • I've added an infobox to the draft. I noticed that you had a notification for the image you uploaded - this will likely get deleted because it's held under a restricted copyright and wouldn't fall under the fair use guidelines needed to use it. Basically, to qualify the image has to be absolutely necessary to understand the topic. In most cases biographical articles don't need an image, at least per the common consensus on Wikipedia.
  • Most of the coverage here is primary, meaning that it's by Radford-Hill or by people or organizations related to her in some form or fashion. In order to establish notability we need to show where she's received coverage in independent, reliable sources such as reviews of her work, news coverage of her, and the like. I'm a little leery of the RocketReach profile since it's not really clear how they get their information or what type of verification processes they use to ensure that everything is accurate.
  • When it comes to her works, it looks like she's really just known for the one book. What I would suggest here is that the career section give a very general overview of the major points of her career and that you make the book its own section. That way you can have more room to expand on the coverage that it has received, as this is likely going to be the main thing that will establish notability for her.

What I'm most concerned about here is that Radford-Hill likely doesn't pass notability guidelines at this point in time. These guidelines are hard to pass in general, but especially so for academics. It looks like she's likely to have received coverage for her book Further to Fly, so we need to find reviews and coverage for the book to help establish notability. This is going to be the main thing that will potentially qualify her for an article, so this is going to be important to find. There are some reviews mentioned on the publisher website, but we need to find the publication information for those specific reviews. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 20:35, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for this! I understand that I need to find more book reviews which is what I'll work on today. This one has been hard! I took out the career section because I'm not sure if it is relevant compared to the book. Also, the permalink for the peer review would not let me publish my edits because it has a Tulane Proxy, so I took out the link. Looking for ways to fix that. -Abbe
