Peer Review: Anti-Environmentalism

[edit]

Hi Abbye. Let me just start off by congratulating you and Emma for the great work you guys have been putting up for this draft on Anti-Environmentalism. I perfectly understand that it is still not a final draft yet but that should not shadow the fantastic work you guys have been doing on procuring information from trusted sources, citing those and maintaining strict relevance to your topic from a neutral point of view. But keeping that in mind I would like to suggest some tweaks which can further improve your draft. Firstly, I would like to suggest integrating some pictures as a visual aid for keeping the readers involved throughout the whole article. Secondly, I would love if more insight could be given to the history of China while discussing Anti-environmentalism. Thirdly, I would like to indicate that in some portions of your draft references for some facts seem to be absent. The section of Donald Trump under political perspectives needs more reference when speaking about facts so, please do take a look at that. Moreover, providing bibliographies at the end in addition to the URL's would be a better citing technique. The details of Poland under Anti-environmentalism requires more references on the list of chemicals used so that the general reader might get a better understanding of them if one has an inquiring mind. But overall your draft seems to be in very nice shape. Information validation has been greatly applied at certain lengths in all of your sections and subsections. Paragraph unity is great and facts and references provided has been directed at the issue. All in all, this has the makings of a very fine draft with a few improvements to be made. I wish you guys all the best. I know surely you guys will find success. Looking forward to hearing from you. Farhan ---FarhanAnjumHaque (talk) 04:22, 12 March 2019 (UTC)FarhanAnjumHaque[reply]

Peer-Review Response:

I would like to thank Farhan for the review of what I have done so far in my article draft! Alongside noting what they thought was good about my draft they gave a few suggestions about how I could improve my article. First, they suggested I should add pictures. I did a search a media search through Wikipedia to see if there was any symbols or images associated with anti-environmentalism but being that it is a broad subject, I do not think there are any images that would fit in appropriately with the article. Secondly, they suggested that I provide some information regarding the history of china. I definitely think adding a couple sentences about china’s environmental policy history is a good idea, but in regard to the history of China I’m afraid adding too much information would stray far away from the main topic of anti-environmentalism itself. Regarding Farhan’s critiques of absent references in the paragraphs about Donald Trump and Poland, those sections were worked on my partner Emma, so I cannot make any changes in those sections. When Emma and I begin to start wrapping up our article, we will certainly collect our sources used and list them in a detailed bibliography at the end, opposed to the simple footnotes that are listed there now. Otherwise, I would like to thank Farhan for the compliments they made towards the work we have done so far, and for the changes they suggested. It helped me reflect on the work done and consider some things that I otherwise wouldn’t have thought of. Abbyecole (talk) 19:33, 16 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notes

[edit]

Hi! I have some notes on your draft. The main thing I want to caution you on is that you really need to attribute any controversial claims to the people making them, such as the paragraph starting with "Anti-environmentalists can be categorized as anti-science, which is consistent with many right-wing ideology or political groups." Also, make sure that you make your citations into in-line citations prior to moving them live. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:47, 27 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
