The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. Start date of Starship/end date of Jefferson Starship[edit]
Hi there. On the List of Jefferson Starship members and List of Starship members articles, there's something I've wondered if it should be addressed. The date for the end of Jefferson Starship/start of Starship in the "Lineups" and "Timeline" sections is currently marked at June 1984, when Kantner left the band. However, the band was still called Jefferson Starship for months after that and was technically the same band, just without Kantner. I feel that possibly October 1984 (when Kantner sued and they temporarily changed their name to "Starship Jefferson") or March 1985 (when the lawsuit was settled and they shortened the name to just "Starship", also around when David Freiberg left) would be better demarcation points for when Starship truly became its own band. - Hello User 174.55.91.169. Yes, the cutoff used here is the departure of Kantner. This matches the AllMusic Biography of Starship, which dates the start to 1984. The change was the departure of Kantner, and the transition period is included with Starship. I think we should probably keep it as is, despite the name Jefferson Starship being used for several more months during the transition. The Kantner exit is the most logical spot to make the cutoff, as this change led to everything else. This also keeps these articles consistent with other sources. Discussion needed[edit]
I would like to make you aware of a discussion I would like to have with you on Talk:Donny Baldwin, if you would please respond over there.
At some point I would like to talk to you about you're criteria for images you use on member lists articles, as I would observe them as inconsistent. You're edits also seem to be against the Collaborative spirit of Wikipedia, with you reverting my edits for reasons that I would consider unsatisfactory. Mewhen123 (talk) 14:28, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, I have reverted a number of edits you made, and noted why I did it on each and every edit. Many of your edits involved either the insertion of poorly lit or otherwise flawed images, adding unsourced information, or using invalid sources for a Wikipedia article, and as such were reverted.
