Peer Review[edit]

I think putting "Artemesia Gentileschi was born in Rome on July 8th..." is irrelevant.

The sentence that begins "The Self-Portrait as a Lute Player was created after Artemisia Gentileschi" is too long. Maybe you could break it into two sentences.

I would add some commas throughout this sentence: "Portraying herself as a musician could be an indication that Artemisia was aligning herself with the other famous women artists, such as Sofonisba Anguissola and Lavina Fontana, who also made self-portraits showcasing themselves playing instruments to demonstrate their knowledge and virtuous characters."

Title of painting needs to be capitalized in "Unlike many other artists self-portraits, Self-portrait as a lute player..."

"Artemisias overgown" needs to be changed to "Artemesia's overgown."

Saying "Some art historians think this" could be considered weasel words. If you don't want to name the historians in the article, you can add a footnote. Zoeswain (talk) 19:17, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
