Olenellus vermontanus (Your page on Paleontology in Vermont)[edit]

Hi, I noticed you use an image of Olenellus fowleri (that I uploaded), which occurs in Nevada and California on your page, probably to illustrate Olenellus vermontanus. This latter species has been reassigned by Lieberman (1999) to Mesonacis. That page has a photograph (right), (by Sam Gon III), that, although it is already quite extensively used, seems much better applicable on your page. An other file available that you may find usefull is a drawing of Bathynotus holopygus (left) from the publication in 1860 by James Hall, where the genus was first described on the basis of a specimen from Vermont. Hi there. I don't believe we've met. I'm Francophonie&Androphilie. I'm relatively new here, but I'm notable for being one of the ten or so users who actually patrols the Article Feedback Tool logs regularly. So congratulations on being one of the only people to ever properly use the "flag as abuse" button! I was going through the list and found two spot-on flags of yours, both of which I hid. Anyways, I noticed that you're one of the many users who got a reviewer flag during the first pending changes trial, so it occurred to me that you might not be aware that that bit also enables you to hide feedback. Clearly you're the more experienced user here, so the only reason I'm telling you any of this is that practically no one knows much about AFTv5, especially when it comes to the monitor bit (which is bundled with rollbacker and reviewer). Or, if you did know all this (in which case I probably sound like a pompous ass), but were just looking for another monitor's input, you might want to take a look at WP:FRG, especially WP:FRG#Hiding and unhiding feedback - the two that I saw you flag were both blatant H3 (disruption) candidates, and since practically no one cares what happens with AFT, if you think it's a borderline case, you can probably just hide anyways. — Francophonie&Androphilie^{(Je vous invite à me parler)} 18:44, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

To get a better handle on the overall quality of comments now that the tool has become a more established part of the reader experience, we're undertaking a round of hand coding - basically, taking a sample of feedback and marking each piece as inappropriate, helpful, so on - and would like anyone interested in improving the tool to participate :).

Paleobotany stub[edit]

I think that it's worth adding your useful {{paleobotany-stub}} template to stub paleobotany articles, even where other stub templates are present (such as {{Silurian-stub}}, which you've been adding). It may encourage people like me who have written fuller paleobotany articles to go through Category:Paleobotany stubs and expand a few, whereas I wouldn't look at e.g. Category:Silurian stubs because I don't normally work on fossil animals.

By the way, there are quite a few stubs which User:Smith609 started which begin "GENUS_NAME was a genus of Silu-Devonian land plant with branching axes." When I have expanded some of these, it turned out that "Silu-Devonian" means "Silurian or Devonian or both" rather than "both", so they may not actually be Silurian.
