Hi, you added lengthy text to Igbo people which appears to be a verbatim copy of the history account found here. It thus seems to be a copyright violation and had to be removed. See Wikipedia:Copyrights for more info. We welcome original work, based on reliable sources, but we cannot accept copyrighted texts. — mark 08:29, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please do not blank content from Wikipedia; it is considered vandalism. I sympathize with your desire to include academically sound information on the origins of the Igbo people, but we cannot have people simply deleting text with which they disagree. Why don't you write the accepted history of the Igbo in your own words and post it to the article? — BrianSmithson 11:35, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, that's what I came here to suggest too. It would be great if you could do that. Anyway, since you're new to Wikipedia, I thought I'd provide you with a few good links for newcomers:

I also thought you might be interested in the Africa-related regional notice board . I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian!

One more tip: you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~); it produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Kind regards, — mark 16:32, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Again, the text from the web-page http://www.apnilac.4t.com/custom2.html had to be removed, because it is most probably a copyright violation. Unless you wrote this text yourself, or unless you can show an explicit permission for Wikipedia to re-use this text, there is no way in which this text can be included in the article Igbo people. Please take good note of this! — mark 06:54, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Orji-Uzor Kalu.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Orji-Uzor Kalu.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 02:05, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Until you cite your sources (particularly regarding the population of Igbos), your edits will continue to be reverted. Thanks, — Brian (talk) 02:55, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop these massive, undiscussed, unsourced additions. We will keep reverting them. Picaroon 01:02, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stop

[edit]

Please stop doing that. In addition to being unsourced, non-neutral, and largely redundant to themselves, your additions are now verging into spam territory. Please read up on Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Picaroon (Talk) 19:46, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
