There was created a program called the 'Female Stipend Program' in Bangladesh way back in 1982, initially to help increase enrolment and retention of girls in secondary schools. At first it was implemented in six areas and in 1994 it was extended, on the back of its success, to all over the country. The Kanyashree prokolpo has a great resemblance with the Female Stipend Program. Anyone can find it in the Internet.
