If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on TheNewAdamb99 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Biblioworm 21:59, 6 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Writing about yourself

[edit]

Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at TheNewAdamb99. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Deleted page

[edit]

I've deleted the page because ultimately I didn't see where you've gained coverage in secondary sources that would be considered reliable per Wikipedia's guidelines, like newspaper coverage. The thing is, being known in your hometown isn't really something that would give notability on Wikipedia. It can make it more likely that there will be coverage, but it's not a guarantee and Wikipedia isn't a place to raise awareness about your channel. I'll be honest - it's incredibly difficult for YouTubers to gain coverage, mostly because there are so many people using the service. For every one PewDiePie there are thousands (at least) of people who never gain coverage. Heck, there are people with subscribers in the hundreds of thousands to a couple of million, but they still never gained enough coverage to warrant an article.

However that said, I would recommend that you look into adding yourself to the YT wikias like this one. I would extend this warning, however - remember that once you put something on the Internet it's very difficult to remove it and while being famous might sound great, I'd recommend that you leave off any information that someone could use to track you down. The page you created on Wikipedia gave your full name, where you lived, the names of all of your family members, and the name of the school you attend - enough to where a determined person could track down your home address and/or where your parents work. I know that you're probably rolling your eyes right now but please be careful. While it's pretty unlikely that you're going to find yourself in a Megan is Missing type of scenario, there are people out there that might take this information and try to hurt you just to show that they could. That's part of the reason why a lot of YouTubers don't release their private information, because there are a lot of kooks out there. Heck, it's part of the reason why Encyclopedia Dramatica is still alive and kicking.

So basically, if you do decide to post anywhere else please do not give out your personal details. Post about your channel but do not and I repeat do not give out your real name, hometown, family names, or the name of your school. I'd also recommend not giving your date of birth either - just put down your birth year. I know that you've likely heard this before but those warnings are out there for a reason.
