Howell normal form example

Hi! I wonder how A and B in the example can have the same row span, although A has a zero row, but B has not. Is this a typo, or is it some particularity of linear algebra over modulo rings? More questions w.r.t. the same page:

• "Linear span" is the same as "row span", I guess? In that case, it should be renamed.
• It seems that every matrix has a reduced echelon form, right? But does it also necessarily have a Howell normal form? If yes, this should be stated explicitly. If no, the set of non-normalizable matrices should be described.
• If it is possible to give some informal characterization of the involved normal forms (such as a "shape resulting from a Gaussian elimination" for row echelon form, see article lead), please give them. - Jochen Burghardt (talk) 19:32, 10 February 2022 (UTC)

Hi! Thanks, I've added this info to the article, hope it clarifies it. Yes, they have the same row span because we work in a module rather than a vector space, so some objects don't behave in a way you'd expect from basic linear algebra. I'd like to say that it's a shape resulting from a Gaussian elimination, and it in fact is (in a way), but sources do not frame it that way (at least, I couldn't find a reliable source that draws a clear connection between the Gaussian elimination and the Howell normal form), so putting it in the article just because it is my personal perspective of the algorithm would be original research. Maybe I'll just add the explicit explanation of the algorithm in the future, as the algorithm is practical. adamant.pwn — contrib/talk 21:00, 10 February 2022 (UTC)

Просьба

Здравствуйте. Несколько времени назад, из-за известных событий, я сменил место жительства. И оказалось что мой домашний ip (вот этот самый) в рувики заблокирован как якобы хостинг (на самом деле это не хостинг конечно). Я не могу даже подать запрос на разблокировку на своей СО - блокируется фильтром. Писал Кубиту на его СОУ в enwiki, ноль реакции. Кубит сообщил, что данный IP принадлежит хостинг-провайдеру и разблокирован не будет. Если есть учётная запись, то может быть рассмотрен вопрос о выдаче ru:ВП:ИСКЛ. adamant.pwn — contrib/talk 18:37, 21 April 2022 (UTC)

Ну что, не допустили в Русскую Википедию вандала (то есть меня)? Молодцы. Считайте, ещё минус один "опытный участник". А потом обсуждаете, почему людей не хватает. А вот потому, что загорожено со всех сторон колючей проволокой, и заходят только те кто очень сильно мотивирован. Т.е. - вандалы, всевозможные пушеры и люди на зарплате. Не, ну я понимаю сейчас война но ведь и до войны то же самое было. Так что теперь думаю, может GWH и правильно поступил, когда ушёл от вас.
