Red Wanting Blue[edit]

You seem to be a big fan of this band. However, I would suggest that you create an article for the band first, and then consider adding articles for their individual albums. If the band is not notable enough for their own articles, then their albums are also not notable enough, and these articles are likely to be deleted. Even if the band is notable enough, their individual albums may not be (the albums would require independent reviews in significant sources to be deemed notable). A quick Google search shows that the band does have some notability. Good luck. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:40, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WikiDan61: What constitutes a significant source? Adamg8504 (talk) 14:14, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please refer to WP:RS for guidelines on reliable sources. Please refer to WP:MUSIC for indications of notability for musical groups. Generally a review in a major national or regional publication would do. (A college newspaper, for example, is generally not considered sufficient to demonstrate notability.) WikiDan61: Okay, thanks. I was planning on having all the albums done first before the bands page, but I will work on getting the page for the band done now.Adamg8504 (talk) 14:23, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Re: RWB photo... No problem! It's actually just a shot with the camera on my phone (HTC Incredible) but it came out really well, and figured it was better than nothing! JonathonReinhart (talk) 08:12, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Velveteen (Red Wanting Blue album) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.
