Berengaria of Castile

[edit]

[edit]

Just visiting to congratulate you on your good translation of the article that I created in es.wiki. I'm working now on Álvaro Núñez de Lara, mentioned in this article, so maybe you'll feel up to it when I finish. Regards, --Maragm (talk) 21:16, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Great!! I should be finished in a couple of days because the character and the events are pretty complicated. Got some good sources that I'm using and want to get this one right. I also created a disambiguation page to include this one - Álvaro Núñez de Lara (m. 1218) and another who died in 1287. Will let you know when I finish. Regards from someone who grew up in New Joisy. --Maragm (talk) 21:47, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again. I still haven't finished Álvaro N. de Lara but another colleague at es.wiki just finished an article on García Fernández de Villamayor, also a very important character and mentioned in the article on Gonzalo R. Girón. [1]. Will keep you posted on Álvaro. Regards, --Maragm (talk) 08:27, 22 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
He's all yours [2]. If I change it drastically in the future, I'll let you know. Many regards, --Maragm (talk) 11:37, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Good job on the translation and thanks for the corrections on the Spanish version. Best regards, --Maragm (talk) 21:45, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Adam, I just read your message on my talk page. You're right. It should be Alfonso IX of León who gave the arras to Berenguela. I just got back from a short holiday and will look at it closely tomorrow but will fix that right away. Thanks for pointing it out. --Maragm (talk) 21:49, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bot issue and disambiguation issue (La Reina del Sur)

[edit]

(Dori's solution implemented; leaving this in for the record.)
I removed an Interwiki link to the English article from the Spanish article es:La Reina del Sur because the latter refers to the novel while the former refers to the musical recording (in real life "La Reina del Sur" is the name of a novel, an album, and two television series). A bot restored the link. Another editor had previously made the same edit & met with the same response from a bot. So, two questions:

  • Is there a way to prevent bots from making this erroneous edit?
  • What's the best way to set up disambiguation between the four items (all but the novel currently have articles)? The novel came first, but the first television series is probably the best known of the four.

Thank you. ADAMGARRIGUS talk 21:26, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It sounds to me like the best approach is to rename La Reina del Sur to La Reina del Sur (album), and then turn La Reina del Sur into a disambiguation page. That way, someone can someday create the page La Reina del Sur (novel) and easily add it to the dab page. Sure, the Spanish wiki article will then link to the disambiguation page, but at least someone coming here from there will have an idea about where to go and what's available.

There may be other approaches, so I'll leave your help message up. DoriTalkContribs 03:08, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming is the easiest way - just insert the links manually if you have to. Mdann52 (talk) 14:56, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the rapid responses, everybody! ADAMGARRIGUS talk 15:45, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Help on Urraca López de Haro

[edit]

Hi Adam, I just came back from a short trip and took some photos, some of which I uploaded in commons: [3] I'm not sure how to indicate in the article on Urraca López de Haro that there are photos of her in commons. Can you help me on this one? Many thanks, --Maragm (talk) 17:21, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks again. --Maragm (talk) 18:14, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Lope Díaz II de Haro

[edit]

Hi Adamgarrigus,

Just wanted to thank you for your help correcting inaccuracies with the Lope Díaz II de Haro article. I'm glad to see someone from the English wiki involved in the period.

Garci

[edit]

The translation is excellent. Thank you!!! I didn't write the article, but I think he was a pretty important character who deserved to be in en.wiki. Best regards, --Maragm (talk) 22:10, 23 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
