About File:Mcafeeheadquarters.jpg: thanks for offering your new image. I'd just ask you not to overwrite existing images by uploading yours with the same filename. This is particularly problematic if you also don't update the file description, making it appear as if the old description and copyright declaration applied to your new file. Can you please re-upload your file under a different name and add the proper description together with it? Thanks – Fut.Perf. 08:24, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I apologize for my error. Thank you for teaching me. I will re-upload the file. I have already changed the description. Please let me know if my changes are acceptable. Thank you. Adc1999 (talk) 08:29, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. It seems you again uploaded it under the same name. Maybe the new version isn't immediately showing up for you now? That's a software issue and will be fixed in a few minutes when the servers catch up. What I had really suggested you do instead was to upload it under an entirely new filename (not from the "upload a new version of this file" link at the bottom of the page, but from the normal "upload file" link in the left toolbar.) But if you are certain the old version will no longer be used for anything, and since you've now also adapted the file description to match your version, I guess we can leave it as it is now. Oh, wait, no, it seems you didn't actually change the description page. I must have misread something. Fut.Perf. 08:51, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm in the process of using the upload file tab on the left toolbar to completely upload a new file. Also, I noticed the logo is also outdated. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble figuring out how to upload a company logo. Do you have suggestions for this? Thank you. Adc1999 (talk) 08:53, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. You mean the logo in the infobox of the Macafee article? Uploading a logo just needs a bit more paperwork, because it falls under the non-free content rules (please have a look at that page so you understand why there's so much hassle.) You can upload the file in the normal way, and then put:
{{ subst:Logo rationale | Article name goes here | web site goes here | person or company owning the intellectual property goes here }}
on the image description page. Fut.Perf. 09:00, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I followed your instructions to change both the building image and the logo. However, neither seem to appear on the McAfee Wikipedia page. I used the "Upload file" link on the left tool bar. What am I doing wrong? Adc1999 (talk) 09:35, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The building photograph appears alright on both pages (if it doesn't for you, you might try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache.) But I still don't see that you have adapted the image description page. You need to go and edit the file page File:Mcafeeheadquarters.jpg (open it for editing just like any other wiki page) and replace the description (where it currently says "Photographed on September 14, 2006." etc.) with your own description and authorship/copyright declaration. About the logo, it won't appear automatically, since the article page is still referring to the old file. You need to edit the article, find the place in the source text where the old image is named (somewhere in the infobox code near the top), and substitute your new image file name for it.
