Hello,
How can I " declare your COI / paid editing", please ? Actually, I did not write this page but I advise the team of students and scientists who wrote these texts, that they wanted the most neutral and encyclopedic possible on a professor who is very important for them in the scientific world. So I was not paid (and no one was) to write this page. I just give advice to put it on wikipedia (and again, many new rules were foreign to me). So don't worry about explaining that somewhere but for me it's not a conflict of interest at all. Adeline.lajoinie (talk) 11:45, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There are two separate but related issues here that you need to address:
  1. COI: Do you have a conflict of interest with regards to the article subject, for example do you know them personally or professionally? COI is quite a broad concept, and covers all sorts of scenarios, so before saying you have no COI "at all", please take a moment to consider this carefully.
  2. Paid editing: Are you being, or do you expect to be, paid or otherwise rewarded for writing this article? This doesn't just mean being paid in a direct and express way (eg. "write this, and we will give you $100"), but could mean you being employed by the organisation that also employs the person in question, or you working as a freelance writer for a PR agency that is hired to do this person's publicity.
If either or both of these apply to you, you must declare them as per the instructions provided above in the 'Managing a conflict of interest' section. If they do not apply, then please state that in writing, by replying to this message.
Thank you, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 12:20, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello,
For COI and paid editing, i'm not concerned. I'm paid to help people to understand wikipedia (it's more complicated that i thought, in order they publish this article. But I have'nt write it. Adeline.lajoinie (talk) 16:46, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's just that unless I'm mistaken, on the French Wikipedia you said you are being compensated. Please do correct me if I got that wrong, French is not my strong suit. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:54, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes of course, i'm full transparent on my fench profile : https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utilisateur:Adeline.lajoinie
I've been compensated to help people to understand how wikipedia is working, not to write or edit a text. Adeline.lajoinie (talk) 16:59, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have to say you're being quite evasive, and what you wrote on fr.wiki seems ambiguous to me, so I can only conclude that you may well contravene either the COI or UPE rules. Therefore my advice to you is to disclose, even if you don't feel you need to; it's better than not disclosing, when it later turns out that you did need to. Of course, up to you how you choose to action this (or not).
One thing I do want to ask specifically, because I'm not sure you've conclusively answered it yet: do you know Ali Zolghadri in any sense of the word, eg. have you spoken with him or met him, is he a colleague or client, etc.? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 17:10, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
hello,
i don't know Ali Zolghadri personaly, no, he's not my client nore my colleague. I'm just helping the DERA (a science university group in France) to publish this page on wikipedia.
But no problem to "disclose" : how can I do that, please ? Adeline.lajoinie (talk) 08:01, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Is that ok for you this disclosure ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Adeline.lajoinie Adeline.lajoinie (talk) 11:16, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
