UK Export/Import Data - Economy of the United Kingdom

[edit]

Hi,

You recently updated the export and import statistical information in the infobox on the Economy of the United Kingdom page. However, you referenced a Statistical UK Trade bulletin PDF from the Office for National Statistics which does not work. Furthermore, you allege the data is the trade data for June 2013 in the citation link, that data has yet to be released yet by the ONS. Could you please amend and clarify that data and its citation. Your contribution is appreciated.

AdamFouracre (talk) 20:49, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Adam, I did these updates using data from the CIA World Factbook. I don't know UK trade office statistics or official agency figures. Anyway, the main source of infoboxes is CIA World Factbook and it's is specified. Besides, this is not a data for the year, the results of 2012. Please look at export and import partners of United Kingdom Export: [1] and Import:[2] Maurice 19:57, 25 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for two weeks for edit warring

[edit]

Because of your past blocks for edit warring, and your edit warring actions at Turkey, I have blocked you for two weeks. Please seek alternative methods to dispute resolution in the future rather than simply engaging in edit wars. As always, this block can be appealed through the use of {{unblock}}. only (talk) 16:46, 24 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

  • I've been blocked by Only in 24 December 2013 because of edit warring I'm being blocked for two week and this issue connects to the my past blocks !! If there is a violation on page of Turkey, I accept that. If the past blocks taken as the reference, it's unacceptable. Maurice07 (talk) 17:10, 24 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

It's perfectly acceptable. The duration of a block is commonly set based on the pattern of behavior. I would suggest you focus your unblock request on how you will prevent future edit warring, as the next block will likely be for a longer duration. Kuru (talk) 17:33, 24 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. [edit]

The talk discussion was archived. It's called "Hopeless hijack". Weren't a lot of voices, and there might be something you can add that was overlooked. But basically, it only made news because Sochi was a hot topic at the time, and this guy wanted to ride coattails. It's like when a drunk threatens to call the President to get him out of the tank. Not really relevant to the President.

If the plane actually had landed in Sochi, and the guy did anything to affect the Games, it'd be notable. But since there was no effect or connection (aside from the angle of some news stories), it's just tangentially related trivia. At least with the other threats, there was a noted increased security effect. InedibleHulk (talk) 18:28, February 20, 2014 (UTC)

About Mahidevran's image

[edit]

I don't edit in tr-WP. But I want to point out that when the image in question was first posted in en WP, I had called "BBC your paintings". My message and their response (on Jan 10) are as follows:

"Hi, Happy new year. I wonder if the subject of the painting "portrait of a sultana 101096" is ambiguous or not. If not what was her name ? Thanks. Nedim Ardoğa"
"Thanks very much for your email. I'm afraid we don't have any more information on this painting, other than what is listed on the site."
Obviously the image is totally imaginative and there is no indication of whom the painter might have imagined. Thus I think that the imagine can't be used as an encyclopedic material. Cheers. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 17:57, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Arbitration enforcement sanction

[edit]

The following sanction now applies to you:

Topic ban from everything related to Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related ethnic conflicts anywhere on Wikipedia.

You have been sanctioned per this arbitration enforcement request.

This sanction is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Armenia-Azerbaijan 2#Final decision and, if applicable, the procedure described at Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Discretionary sanctions. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions for that decision. If the sanction includes a ban, please read the banning policy to ensure you understand what this means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions.

You may appeal this sanction using the process described here. I recommend that you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template if you wish to submit an appeal to the enforcement noticeboard. You may also appeal directly to me (on my talk page), before or instead of appealing to the noticeboard.  Even if you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are also free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 08:07, 16 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You are also placed on notice that if the disruption spreads to another topic area they will be blocked indefinitely as a non-discretionary sanctions (normal admin) action, this warning will be recorded as a final warning at Wikipedia:Editing restrictions#Final warnings. Can you please make an RM for Rabaa and Nahda massacre(s) instead of the one you proposed? I recommend you check how the discussion developed since the last time you left, because the new title does not reflect the fact that the events occurred in another sit-in also. I will support. Also, i don't think there is a need to capitalize "massacre" per MOS:CAPS and because the sources rarely do that. Regards. Fitzcarmalan (talk) 17:38, 29 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Just wanted to let you know that your insertion of the Turkish presidential seals into the infoboxes of the various presidents is against the MOS. It has been decided over various discussions that presidential seals, and similar, are not appropriate for infoboxes. The consensus is they're not really needed, and make an infobox look cluttered. Of course, consensus can change, so feel free to start a discussion at someone like the talk page of the President of Turkey article, if you would like consensus to put the seals back in. Otherwise, I refer you to Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Icons to explain more. Besides that, thanks for the good work clearing up the infoboxes. Redverton (talk) 00:51, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There are few things to improve in that map by the way, not much. elmasmelih (used to be KazekageTR) 22:25, 30 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you violate Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy by inserting unsourced or poorly sourced defamatory content into an article or any other Wikipedia page again, as you did at Cem Özdemir, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Walter Görlitz (talk) 13:22, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Cem Özdemir.

If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.
Typically Muslim in your approach, you claim you will seek intervention but you choose a war. Walter Görlitz (talk) 01:50, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry about the recent edit at Cem Özdemir. The RfC has just started and others may come to edit and discuss, but when an editor makes policy- and guideline-based arguments, it's difficult to refute with opinion.
I suggest that we do not comment as our opinions are well described in the section above the RfC and it may be perceived as badgering or combative to engage with those who are merely commenting. If the RfC continues for a while, we could engage in discussion, but let others discuss for a few days anyhow. Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:56, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  1. You are now at three reverts on Mesut Özil.
  2. The whole thing has been discussed over and over and over on the talk page (see the archives). It doesn't appear as though you didn't consult WP:OPENPARA or WP:MOSBIO which shows once again that you are not cut out for editing on Wikipedia. Sorry. You hit four. The revert of the vandalism was in good form. See Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring. Walter Görlitz (talk) 02:23, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of two weeks for edit warring and violating the three-revert rule, as you did at Turkish presidential election, 2014. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.  Bbb23 (talk) 01:34, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock Request

[edit]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Adem (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I really don't understand the reason for this block. I would like to report a violation of edit war on WP:AN, but in the end I'm blocked. It's really not a fair decision. I wonder, did I violate the rule of WP:3RR in the last 24 hour period ? Otherwise, that decision has given looking at my extensive block log in the past? Thank you. Maurice Flesier (talk) 21:19, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

The reason is clearly given in the block message above, and in more detail below. I would suggest reading the many, many warnings and block notices you have received in the past related to edit warring. Kuru (talk) 22:07, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You reverted four times on August 18. The first was a series of consecutive edits ending at 10:54. The second was a single edit at 17:28. The third was a series of consecutive edits ending at 19:38. The last was a single edit at 19:41.--Bbb23 (talk) 21:26, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Turkey, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Nut and Manti. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Turkish language

[edit]

I thought that, as one of the official languages of the Cyprus, it would be an official language of European Union, such as Luxembourgish. --Akinranbu (talk) 15:13, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Turkey is not an EU member, so such a thing is not in question. Maurice Flesier (talk) 15:19, 28 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Fuad I of Egypt may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Hi - I've added a comment at Talk:Tomb of Suleyman Shah#TOMB NOT A SOVEREIGN ENCLAVE regarding the revert you just made. Interested to hear your thoughts. ninety:one (reply on my talk) 16:12, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Maurice Flesier, can you please discuss your edits to the article? It would also, perhaps, be best for everyone to not make edits until the discussion is resolved. – Zntrip 20:29, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Turkey. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 20:41, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
