Turkey Name and Motto[edit]

Hello there Maurice,

I respect you as a major Wikipedia editor, you obviously know a lot about the subject of Turkey. I thank you for your edit but I am completely sure that the official name of Turkey, under the constitution of the the nation, is the "State of Turkey" And the motto is also official, under The 1982 amended constitution. I fully respect your edit to the article for Turkey but please, revert your changes as the information was correct.

Please Maurice, do not take this in a hostile way, I respect your edits but it is incorrect, my deepest apologies for this.

Inclusion of Turkish in non-Turkish settlements[edit]

There is no reason to apologize, NebY. Technically, you're right. Antalya geographically is located in Asia. But the UN World Tourism Organisation shows to Turkey in Europe just like İsrael. I think that this column be removeD for Euromonitor and MasterCard reports. Ultimately, the WTO regions has nothing to do with them. Thus, the disputes that may arise in the future can be avoided. Appeal?? Which case is taken to appeal without any defense? Yes, each user does not make edit to Wikipedia for 24 hours. If this is a part of Archive128, Gračanica would be a town in Greece? I violated 3RR but not AE banned topics. Is Hagia Sophia part of Greek-Turkish relations? User:Anastan is sockpuppet of User:Zoupan. To understand this, you do not need to be a scientist! I put a template associated with it, but it was removed by sockpuppet. Zoupan activates the Anastan to avoid infringement. Same Serbian related articles, same moves..
Frankly, I do not believe that it is no longer neutral in Wikipedia, admin User:EdJohnston. Certain articles, has turned the property of specific users. This situation is being covered up by administrators. Armenian and Greek users running the lobbying and it took place in The Guardian. Already this is surely known. Unblock request will not change anything, as in the previous. No Justice, no neutral admins, no objective articles and a user without puppets.. Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Turkey)[edit]

Hi. I was wondering if you'd be interested in setting up Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Turkey), based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). Now it's not a contest in itself, it's designed to motivate people to inspire others to improve content and build something which demonstrates the hard work going into the country which is visible. The focus is more on quality improvements but new articles are welcome too. Eventually a Turkish National Contest could be created to fuel it, like Wikipedia:Awaken the Dragon, in which contestants can choose to keep the Amazon vouchers themselves to buy their own books for more articles or put them into book fund to help editors further improve Turkish-related topics by giving them the books they want. It will begin though as purely an improvement drive. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! Today, I sent an e-mail to EdJohnston about the indefinite block since May 5, 2015 and then he gave me information about the method I should follow. Thanks again for the feedback. I haven't made any unblock requests in the past 6.5 years. During this time, I continued to be active and contribute to my mother tongue, TR Wikipedia, Commons and WikiData. I was selected as one of the two user representing Wikimedia Turkey User Group at the Wikimedia CEE Meeting 2018 in Lviv, Ukraine. I participated in many competitions, events and meetings of Turkish Wikipedia. In addition, I continue to contribute as the featured content officer and patroller of the community. I can also reassure you that I did not attempt any sockpuppet after the block, but I can say that i make IP contributions sometimes. But they are not vandalism or disruptive. If you can see these IP links I can provide. I request unblock to you because of the sustainability of the projects I am involved in and the credibility of my global contributions. WP:IP says: ".. They may read all Wikipedia pages (except restricted special pages), and edit pages that are not protected (including pending changes protected/move-protected articles).." Unless policy violation, is it illegal for an IP user to contribute? If I violated policies with IP contributions, is there a page about it, ı dont know recent policies. I have never felt the need to open a new account and have not applied for a single unblock in six years. I acted honestly, became conscious and learned lessons during this time. How do you know if a user is actually changing their contribution and behavioral tendencies without giving them the opportunity? Block evasion is always against policy. Your account was not blocked. You the person were blocked. That means you cannot edit any pages on Wikipedia except your Talk page until you the person are unblocked. It is irrelevant whether the IP edits were disruptive. Thank u for these helpful clarifications Bbb23. Honestly, I didn't know that the post-block process and the IP contrib relationship like this. I thought it wouldn't be a problem like other IP users. If I had known this already, I would never have contributed as IP user and would have applied for unblocking in previous years. hen I blocked it, I wasn't very familiar with the policies.   • Since 2015 I haven't been able to contribute on EnWiki, so I can just try to prove that a user can change by giving examples from other Wikimedia projects and language versions. My contribution history improved into from comments on the talk pages and pointless edit wars to creating content such as making updates, enhancements and expansion on articles, creating new articles and uploading photos on Commons. (Main: 71.5%, Talk pages:7.1%) For the first time, I applied for a grant as a member of Wiki Cemeteries User Group individually for a photo-walk event to be attended by members of the Turkish Community. I attended and gave speeches at many national and international online events and meetings, ı was also among the active perticipants in many edit-a thons. [2] [3] [4] I'm one of the first supporters of the update and revision request for the blocking policy of TR Wiki in 2020. I'm now defending the necessary arguments for "the free advencement of knowlegde", not according to people and situations. I have changed from a policy vialator to a user who is asked for his opinion on policy proposals [5], and as a user ı have always advocated fair methods and tried to do the best for our guidelines. Maurice, your best plan is probably to apply for unblock again in April 2022 which will be six months after your last sock edit. You would need to refrain from editing the English Wikipedia with any account or IP during that period. See WP:Standard offer for the terms. The individual has complied with the terms of the SO and there seems agreement amongst several of us (including myself) that they should be offered the chance to prove they've improved. For the sake of clarity, your AE topic bans into "everything related to Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related ethnic conflicts" and "Greek-Turkish relations" remain. These are broadly construed so if you think they might apply, they do. I'm taking the blocking admin's comments below as sufficient grounds for the unblock per NOTBUREAU. Support. Maurice Flesier has been following the terms of WP:Standard offer, as explained to him back in November 2021. What he is appealing is a conventional admin block, though I made it at AN3 on 5 May 2015 following some reports at AE about nationalist editing. In my opinion Maurice's block can be lifted, subject to the existing AE restriction from 2014. That was a topic ban from "everything related to Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related ethnic conflicts". The closing admin at AE in 2014 was User:Callanecc. There is also a topic ban from Greek-Turkish relations imposed here at AE by DeltaQuad in 2013. These bans are still documented in WP:DSLOG.
