Six of the Best (merge)
[edit]Hi Adw uk, welcome to Wikipedia. I've undone the merge you just made because it wasn't discussed first. I've added the proper merge tags to both articles and left a comment at Talk:Genesis (band) about my edits. Cheers. Robotman1974 15:52, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hi again. It looks like no one knew about the proposed merger before because Genesis (band) wasn't tagged for a merge back in September. The merge tags I placed on both articles now are these: {{Mergeto|Genesis (band)|date=March 2007}} and {{Mergefrom|Six of the Best|date=March 2007}}. Usually it's good to wait at least 5 days after proposing a merge, sometimes longer. You can read more about merging pages at WP:MM. Now that the merge tag is in the Genesis article itself, I think it won't take long for other editors to see it and have their say. I'm actually surprised the reunion concert isn't mentioned in that article already. I think a short sentence mentioning it and linking to Six of the Best would be a good idea. Happy editing. Six of the Best (deleted info)
[edit]Hi,
I'm new to editing at Wiki and would like to know why you removed some of my additions to this page? I did not offer my personal opinion (I wasn't at the show) just added some additional information (many citations) and the 'fan's eye view' was just put there to give a sense of the occassion and the status this show holds to Genesis fans.
Kind regards, Andrew —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Adw uk (talk • contribs) 11:10, 23 March 2007 (UTC).
- Ahh, I did not realise you were new to Wikipedia. In that case, let me first welcome you aboard and apologise if my edits seemed harsh in anyway -- that can unfortunately be a common occurrence on Wikipedia; but just keep in mind that reverts happen to the best of us. The portion of information I had removed was unreferenced, rife with weasel words, and outright unencyclopedic. I understand your intent with providing an observer's viewpoint of the concert, but Wikipedia attempts to stick to the facts and tries not to align with any point-of-view or opinions. If there was information within that text that you felt was particularly valuable, feel free to add segments back in, but try to keep it in a more neutral tone and be sure to provide a reference.
- As you had provided an observer's viewpoint but state that you were not the observer yourself, I am left to assume that this information came from some source, somewhere; and rarely do editors add any emotional language (i.e. emphasising "the" or the quote at the end), therefore it may appear that this information was directly copied from somewhere. Be sure that any information you provide is not copied directly from any copyrighted source, but rather paraphrased in your own words.
- I hope that helps -- feel free to respond on my talk page should you have any further questions. Sláinte! --Bossi (talk ;; contribs) 11:41, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Scorpions-VirginKiller.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Scorpions-VirginKiller.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 18:31, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- All done! Pleased delete 'Scorpions-VirginKiller.jpg' as another user has uploaded a better image and all the Keith Green covers now have appropriate text.

License tagging for Image:InAnotherLand.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:InAnotherLand.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 15:07, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

Re: CD covers
[edit]Thank you for diligently addressing this concern. I'd like to get your opinion on the collage version of the album's cover arts, do you think that this image is a suitable replacement for all instances, or would you prefer to use the censored and uncensored covers separately? ˉˉanetode╦╩ 02:56, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
15 Songs for You
[edit]I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article 15 Songs for You, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. ShadowHalo 21:29, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- I don't doubt that it exists. But then, I exist. And Wikipedia certainly doesn't have (or want) an article about me. Unless there is coverage by third-party reliable sources, then an article shouldn't exist. ShadowHalo 19:27, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- I've added an entry to the main CA Discography page under 'Unofficial Albums'
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christina_Aguilera_discography#Unofficial_albums
If this is acceptable deletion of this article will be uncontested. Adw uk 10:42, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:KeithGreen-ForHimWhoHasEars.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:KeithGreen-ForHimWhoHasEars.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 20:17, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab releases
[edit]Please do not re-add the list of releases to the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab article. Wikipedia is intended to be an encyclopedia and not a catalog or directory, and adding the large list of releases is a violation of Wikipedia's policy. See WP:NOTDIR for more information. Also, please refrain from using the "undo" button to restore a previous edit. The "undo" button should only be used to revert vandalism, and should not be used to revert good-faith edits. –Dream out loud (talk) 20:44, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for File:BarryManilow-Barry.jpg}
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:BarryManilow-Barry.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When you make a change to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Phil Collins. Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit. It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Srobak (talk) 13:26, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
