Gram-positive vs Gram stain vs. gram-negative... etc. etc.
[edit]Hi Aeb221267! I saw on your recent edit to Staphylococcus aureus you changed "gram-positive" to "Gram-positive" a handful of times. I know this seems kind of silly, but my understanding is that gram-positive/negative is considered an Eponym and as such is left lowercase when used as an adjective (that is, we usually say Gram stain, but gram-negative. Weird, right?). There has been some discussion about this on the gram-negative talk page in the past. I reverted your edit to S. aureus for now, but if you'd like to talk about it, I'd be happy to do that here or on the S. aureus talk page!
Also as a side note I'm really glad to see that it looks like we have another editor interested in microbiology!! I hope you decide to stick around and improve things around here, the microbiology articles are in a sorry state (nearly 3,000 articles marked as stubs, and almost 1,000 marked with some particular concern) and could certainly use your help!! If you have any questions about anything as you get acclimated to Wikipedia, feel free to leave a message here, on my talk page, or over at the WikiProject Microbiology page (I hope you decide to join)!Ajpolino (talk) 02:35, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
