Hello Afonso Pinto Magalhães. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Afonso Pinto Magalhães. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Afonso Pinto Magalhães|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. MrOllie (talk) 13:31, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, MrOllie. I am not being compensated by the Polisport organisation. There is no undisclosed financial stake in promoting their page. I work at Polisport as communication specialist, and the edits on the Polisport Wikipedia page are not focused on promoting the brand but only and I mean, ONLY, in giving as much information as we can to the consumer. The edits I made are focused on adding information and facts about the company, always avoiding promotional sentences. Please, evaluate my request one more time and if possible, explain to me why you reverted my changes. Thank you for your time and support. Afonso Pinto Magalhães (talk) 14:54, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You have said that I am not being compensated by the Polisport organisation. and also I work at Polisport as communication specialist. Both things cannot be true at the same time. MrOllie (talk) 14:58, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I do not did this edit for money. I did this because it is my job to give our customers the right information about the brand and organisation. Thats why I edited the Polisport wikipedia page. The only thing I can see here is that the information is being deleted because of who edited it, and not because it is true or not - what is completely unfair. I could tell that I do not work there and that I am just passionate about Polisport products, but I'm being completely honest with you - the same level of honesty that I put on this Wikipedia page. Once I again, I wrote the text 4 times and reviwed it even more, to make sure that we do not promote nothing and to be sure that we are not using any language that could seem like it. My one and only objective here is to give the customers fact and right information. The way that the page is now, it's not good or right. Please, consider my changes. Afonso Pinto Magalhães (talk) 15:03, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
WP:PAID absolutely does apply to you, and you have been editing in violation of our terms of use on this subject as explained above. You absolutely did add promotional text to the article. Wikipedia is not a venue for you to communicate with your 'customers' - this isn't one of your social media profiles. MrOllie (talk) 15:30, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Can you tell me where did I use promotional text on this article and which lines make you think that I'm trying to communicate with my customers? Thank you. Afonso Pinto Magalhães (talk) 08:41, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also, let me know how I can fix this problem Afonso Pinto Magalhães (talk) 08:44, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You can fix this problem by ceasing dancing around the issue and making the paid editing disclosure. If you work in communications, editing Wikipedia clearly falls within the purview of your job duties. You don't have to be specifically paid to make edits. 331dot (talk) 08:47, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Your edits were exclusively cited to your company website, instead of independent reliable sources; summarizing independent sources is the main purpose of a Wikipedia article. 331dot (talk) 08:49, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think there is no need to talk like that. We are trying to fix this problem and I would like to get your help here. Do I just need t opast this on top of the article?
{{Connected contributor (paid)|User1=InsertName|U1-employer=InsertName|U1-client=InsertName|U1-otherlinks=Insert relevant links, such as relevant affiliations, disclosures, article drafts written by paid editors, or diffs showing paid contributions being added to articles.}}. Afonso Pinto Magalhães (talk) 08:51, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That particular notice is intended for article talk pages(I've added coding to suppress its function here); the instructions in the intial post above describe how to make a notice for your user page(User:Afonso Pinto Magalhães). I apologize for being blunt, but we don't handhold paid editors here; we're here for free. If you're being paid, we expect you to learn what needs to be done here. 331dot (talk) 09:01, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello MrOllie,
Ok, i understand your point now. I want to make this right so i'm gonna work again on the text to make sure it complies with wikipedia's terms and rules.
I'm going to get external sources to all my information and then we'll talk again after you revise it.
Should i send to you the text and info first, before uploading it so you can take a look at it?
Have a great weekend. Afonso Pinto Magalhães (talk) 10:46, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your next edit should be to add the paid editing disclosure to your user page as the first post above instructs. You may be blocked if you fail to do this, this is a Terms of Use requirement. 331dot (talk) 13:09, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again. Just added the disclosure to my user page, as I'm a paid editor. What should my next steps be? Thank you for the help! Afonso Pinto Magalhães (talk) 13:49, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again, @331dot@MrOllie. Can I get any help on my last message? Just added the disclosure to my user page, as I'm a paid editor. What should my next steps be? Afonso Pinto Magalhães (talk) 09:05, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You need to review the edit request procedure and propose edits on the article talk page, Talk:Polisport. Please note that Wikipedia is primarily interested in what independent reliable sources with significant coverage choose on their own to say about a topic- no press releases, staff interviews, brief mentions, or primary sources. We're not interested in what a company says about itself. Primary sources may be used in certain limited situations(see WP:PRIMARY).
It appears that at least one prior employee attempted to propose edits- and did so exactly the wrong way. Instead of proposing a wholesale rewrite or large additions, start smaller and propose single, specific changes at a time. Small edits are more likely to be accepted than large ones. 331dot (talk) 09:35, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. I've suggested some changes on the Polisport page's talk section. I also add the disclosure on my profile page as being paid by Polisport. Which are the next steps? Afonso Pinto Magalhães (talk) 08:35, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For a faster response, you should mark your talk page section as a formal edit request(click for instructions), this will draw the attention of editors in general and not just those that may be monitoring that article.
Once you do that, you just need to be patient. You correctly made the paid disclosure, thank you. 331dot (talk) 09:30, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
