Welcome![edit]

Hello, AgilityQueen, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Cylvia Hayes, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! tedder (talk) 17:48, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

August 2023[edit]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to add promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Seraphimblade Talk to me 02:37, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Specifically, no external links are permitted in article text, and links to sites selling books or other material are especially inappropriate. Please ensure that you never again put something like that into any article. Seraphimblade Talk to me 02:38, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK! Thanks for letting me know that. I am just learning this stuff. AgilityQueen (talk) 02:52, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there. I have not added promotional or advertising material. Not sure what you are referring to. AgilityQueen (talk) 02:51, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I just told you exactly what the promotional material was, and you reverted it right back in. One more time, and you'll be blocked from editing. Seraphimblade Talk to me 02:54, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I did not see your message before that edit. So if it gets reverted again, it's not me doing it. AgilityQueen (talk) 03:02, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

AgilityQueen, to respond your comment that "I have not added promotional or advertising material.", removing all less-than-positive information, and adding links to Substack and multiple links to Hales' own site are good examples of promotional material (or in violation of having content written in a neutral point of view. Further, your editing pattern makes it appear you may have a close connection to Cylvia Hales; note conflicts of interest should be disclosed, and MUST be disclosed if you are being paid to edit articles. tedder (talk) 05:41, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, AgilityQueen. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Cylvia Hayes, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Graywalls (talk) 09:44, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Why do continue to remove a cited addition of a person's current occupation from a Wiki article? AgilityQueen (talk) 17:11, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not well sourced, and undue. Do you have a personal and/or professional connection with the subject, and are you receiving compensation to make edits here? Graywalls (talk) 17:15, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What the hell does "undue" mean -- that is a value statement from you, not neutral, factual reporting. I am absolutely not being paid by anybody to edit anything. I follow Ms. Hayes writing and she has spoken at my church. AgilityQueen (talk) 17:24, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What's undue? See WP:WEIGHT. Properly sourced? See WP:RS. You give an impression of having a conflict of interest, because your edits are exclusively about Cylvia. Graywalls (talk) 17:50, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am brand new to wiki editing and got into it when I learned about the incredible gender gap, and misogynist and negative bias. AgilityQueen (talk) 17:55, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also, this is from the reference link you provided -- Wikipedia articles should be based on reliable, published sources, making sure that all majority and significant minority views that have appeared in those sources are covered (see Wikipedia:Neutral point of view). If no reliable sources can be found on a topic, Wikipedia should not have an article on it.
The sources I provided are from the publication of an accredited educational institution. That certainly seems to fit these Wiki guidelines. AgilityQueen (talk) 17:59, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

August 2023 block[edit]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistently making disruptive edits.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Bbb23 (talk) 01:08, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

AgilityQueen (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I am brand new to Wiki editing and did do some reversals of edits and internal links before I knew the rules about that. I have not done so since. I have added updated, cited information only to have that removed. When I requested Admin help I was blocked by a fellow editor.

Decline reason:

You've spoken to the edit warring, but have not addressed the substance of your edits, nor spoken to your initial claim of being Cylvia Hayes that you did later change; if you aren't her, do you represent her or have some other association with her? Your interest in her seems much stronger than merely editing about someone who spoke at your church. I think that many of these issues would be helped by a more collaborative attitude on your part and less assumption of bad faith when others remove your edits(see WP:AGF). I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 08:54, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • You may have only one unblock request at a time.--Bbb23 (talk) 01:49, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
AgilityQueen, I think there might be a discussion to be had about content- I could see the addition of "minister" being at least worthy of discussion. But people are reacting to you assuming bad faith about other editors. Does that make sense? tedder (talk) 05:33, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate the admin explanation. Please tell me how long until this block expires. I have already clarified I am not being paid for any of this. This was the very first article I attempted to edit because I knew something about this person. When I called it "my profile" I was not familiar with Wiki-ese and should have said my article edits, or better still the article I am working on. To further clarify I reviewed the articles about other authors and people in spiritual leader positions and found many internal links and references to their specific books which is why I added those pieces. If a person has a published book it hardly seems biased to note that, since the factual information is evident. Also, please note, I have not made a single personal attack or negative comment about any of the editors who continually removed the updated information I added. Again, please advise how long the block lasts and I'll see if it's worth my time to try to do some editing more in line with the Wiki-rules.

Decline reason:

This does not specifically answer the question posed by 331dot. Yamla (talk) 10:54, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • You again created two unblock requests. If you do it again, I will revoke your access to this page.--Bbb23 (talk) 17:29, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am not doing that on purpose. It is happening when I use the template and fill out both the subject and the description boxes. Once done I did not see how to remove the duplicate. If I need to use a template again I will only fill out the subject box and see if that works. AgilityQueen (talk) 17:48, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Someone else will review your request, but the block has no specific end date; it will be removed when you convince an admin to remove it. 331dot (talk) 21:57, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
